The Category Procurement Manager – Professional Services, reporting to the Group Director Indirect Procurement, will champion strategic sourcing activities for professional services across the North America sites. This position manages ~$50 million in annual spend and supports stakeholders across key functions such as HR, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Quality, R&D and EHS. This position is responsible for the development of category sourcing strategies as well as being directly responsible for the execution of these strategies, including day-to-day interaction with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure an uninterrupted supply of quality goods and services at optimum cost. The Manager collaborates and works closely with other functions in the organization to implement Total Cost of Ownership improvement opportunities within the category.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Strategy Development and Strategy Implementation (30%) - Leads development of overall multi-year procurement strategies and translates the strategies into concrete action plans. Collaborate early and often with key stakeholders to ensure buy-in and support, helping others to overcome resistance to change.
- Project Management (30%) – Lead projects through creating alignment and strong working relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Negotiation (30%) - Manage the multi-level negotiation process with suppliers to achieve business results including legal and commercial terms, service levels, performance expectations and claims resolution.
- Financial Planning (10%) - Develops budgets and targets based on aggressive yet data-based goals.
WHAT WE VALUE
- Ability to lead concurrent projects across multiple manufacturing plants and functions. Obtain buy-in and collaboration from functional leaders and individual site management.
- Flexibility to navigate seamlessly throughout the organization (with functions such as Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Research & Development) during the project lifecycle, fostering relationships with partners throughout the business to achieve project deliverables.
- Proven process to develop supplier relationships in a way that encourages open dialogue and cooperating in identifying and implementing win-win situations that add value to both organizations.
WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
- Bachelor’s level degree or equivalent.
- Master’s Degree as an advantage.
- 8 to 10 years of relevant work experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Working knowledge of purchasing processes and supplier quality systems.
- Travel at 10% to 15% to meet with stakeholders at business locations.
- Proven success in project management and leading teams.
- Expertise / mastery in desktop tools (Excel, PowerPoint, databases or equivalent).
- SAP and/or other ERP systems experience as an advantage.
- Demonstrates excellent negotiation skills, problem-solving ability and strategy planning expertise.
- Strong action/results orientation with the ability to work with minimal oversight, to be self-motivated and proactive in achieving individual/team objectives.
