- Assessing employee performance, recognising potential, and meeting their training needs as appropriate
- Support to achieving financial targets agreed with the client within the budget and monitoring the work of the location team
- Holding regular team meetings to communicate targets, required standards, company, and client information
- Collaborating and supporting with the location General Manager to prepare budgets, maintain food costs, and maximise commercial opportunities
- Supporting the General Manager in developing and evolving client services at the location, regularly making adjustments and improvements as needed
- Providing prompt and efficient customer service while consistently exceeding expectations
- Monitoring customer feedback and producing an action plan based on the results
- Ensuring all food is presented and served in line within BaxterStorey’s standards, using innovation in the method and style of presentation and food service
- Assisting with recruiting appropriately skilled employees, assessing their performance, meeting their training needs including monitoring any poor performance and taking apparated step to rectify

Comprising of a large restaurant and separate cafe bar with extensive hospitality offering across a popular science-focussed campus within the Didcot area. You will be responsible for a team of 26 highly collaborative talented individuals, reporting into the General Manager, deputising in their absence. The role would be very suitable for candidates with hotel or conferencing background, chef management or previous experience commensurate with this role.

Qualifications - Previous experience commensurate with role
- Passion for food and customer service
- You draw satisfaction from managing, training, and supporting a team
- Financially astute, you are very analytical and know how to support your manager with budgets and drive commercial performance
- Excellent delegation and influencing skills
- Ability to prioritise multiple projects in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, creative environment and able to work well under pressure
- Meticulous organisational abilities; high attention to detail
- Concise and effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective
- Excellent strategic thinking and critical reasoning skills
