Role Overview: As a General Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students within the classroom. Your work will directly contribute to creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
Essential Requirements: Previous Experience - At least 40 days of experience as a Teaching Assistant or equivalent with passion for supporting teachers and children in their educational journey.
Location: Evesham (on-site)Contract type: Temporary, Full-time or part-time, flexible daily availability depending on your needs
Responsibilities:
- Classroom Preparation: Set up classrooms before lessons and maintain a safe, clean environment.
- Collaboration: Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials and managing school equipment.
- Progress Tracking: Record and report children's progress to the teacher.
- Focus and Supervision: Help children stay focused during class hours and supervise group activities, sports events, and school outings.
- Behaviour Management: Support teachers in managing student behaviour.
- Core Skills Development: Assist in improving children's core skills, such as reading and writing.
- Well-Being: Look after children who may be unwell or upset.
Skills and Competencies:
- Guidance and Articulate Communication: Ability to guide and support children aged 5-11, communicate clearly, and build positive relationships.
- Creating an Encouraging Environment: Foster an environment that encourages learning and growth.
- Active Listening: Listen attentively to children's needs.
- Empathy and Sensitivity: Show understanding, encouragement, and sensitivity toward children.
- Tech Proficiency: Comfortable using computers and handheld devices.
- Resilience: Respond calmly and constructively under stress.
- Flexibility: Adapt to varying classroom situations.
Desired Qualifications (not essential):
- Bachelor's Degree: In Education or a related field.
- Level 2 or 3 Certificate: Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or similar.
- Level 3 Diploma: Childcare and Education or similar.
- T Level: Education and Early Years or similar.
