Salary: £28,214- £29,937 + Market Forces Supplement (Salary includes 4% increase which will be effective from 1st August 2024)
Full time contract based on 37 hours per week
An opportunity has arisen for motivated and flexible individuals to join the College’s busy Estates Team at its vibrant Coventry city center campus.
Working closely with other members of the team, you will help provide an effective maintenance service to ensure that all areas of the College are safe to use and of a high standard.
• Carry out PPM and repair work to include fire doors, access control door locks, window mechanism repairs and other assorted work in accordance with Estates schedules and accepted good working practices to ensure safe and reliable services.
• When required give assistance and support to other trade disciplines within the Estates Department to ensure an efficient Estates service is provided.
• To become fully conversant with the systems within the remit of the Estates Department.
• When required help the Estates and Facilities staff in non-maintenance tasks.
• Be able to read, understand and work from engineering and architectural drawings.
• To carry out all duties in a safe manner, having regard for the safety of others.
• To undergo all necessary update and health & safety training.
• To carry out routine checks of equipment recording results in accordance with Estates Department policy and procedures recording works and faults on the Estates CMMS Database.
• Participation in response/emergency teams for fire, major incident and any other requiring an Estates Department input.
• Required to carry a radio, as and when operational needs require, responding to urgent requests from the line managers and fire group calls during their working shifts.
• Record work information on CMMS system.
The successful candidate must have experience of working in a similar role undertaking relevant site maintenance and general maintenance duties. The ability to lift and move equipment and furniture is an essential part of the role.
City & Guilds Carpentry Qualifications essential and Full Driving License would be an advantage.
With good communication skills, the ability to work flexibly and possessing a friendly and helpful attitude, you will be a team player who is also able to work with minimal supervision.

To prepare and generate breakfast, lunch and evening meals and serve to patients in line with training and instructions provided by Apetito. To ensure appropriate standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout Myton Hospices in conjunction with agreed procedures and cleaning standards. Specific focus on clinical and patients areas to set standards. Catering Responsibilities Prepare and serve meals to patients as per instructions and training provided by Apetito and in line with Level 2 Food hygiene training. To provide washing up and cleaning duties within the kitchen to ensure food safety, cleanliness, hygiene and COSHH standards are adhered to. To issue and retrieve menus to patients for meal choices. To ensure the dining room is regularly cleaned and tidied between use. To prepare hot and cold meals for staff an visitor lunches and sandwiches for the vending machine. (The hot option will be prepared in the same way that patient hot meals are prepared). Assist with the stocking of the vending machine when required. To serve patient meals on the Inpatient Unit in line with expected hygiene standards. Undertake regular checks and cleaning duties in the kitchen to ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained to a high level at all times. Cleaning Responsibilities Undertake cleaning throughout all areas of the Hospice, including but not limited to: patient rooms; clinics; toilets; bathrooms; offices; reception; and communal areas. Undertake cleaning of clinical and patient areas to agreed standards, including daily cleaning schedules and deep cleaning. Carry out 'periodic cleaning' tasks as per agreed schedule and when required. Cleaning schedules and standards to comply with CQC and infection control requirements. To comply with Health and Safety legislation, and be aware of the safe use of all Housekeeping products in relation to COSHH and infection control. Visually inspect Housekeeping and Laundry tools and equipment daily to ensure operator safety. All defects to be reported to the Hospitality Team Leader. Ensure Housekeeping trollies are replenished after use and that all equipment is cleaned or laundered after use. Undertake, as appropriate, laundry service, to ensure clean linen and supplies are available as required. To collect used linen for laundering from disposal areas. To ensure all linen cupboards are kept appropriately stocked at all times. Undertake other duties as required by the Hospitality Team Leader or Head of Facilities to assist with the operational needs of the organisation.
