This position supervises the U.S. Special Acquisitions Section (USSA) in the U.S./Anglo Division of the Directorate of Acquisitions and Bibliographic Access (ABA). The section is responsible for the acquisition of all non-serial collection material from the United States, excluding books acquired through copyright deposit, Cataloging In Publication or routine government transfer. It acquires most of the special collection materials being added to the Library’s collection, as well as most of the items donated for addition to the collection and all high-profile donated collection materials. The incumbent of this position serves as Section Head and is responsible for managing the work, including acquisitions, and cataloging functions, of the section, overseeing the work of a staff of librarians and library technicians performing these functions, and performing administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised. The incumbent serves under the administrative supervision of the division chief. The incumbent works highly independently, exercising considerable judgment, and carries out duties and responsibilities in accordance with broad overall guidelines and policies.

Supervises a group of employees performing work up to the GS-13 level. Provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit. Determines the human resources needed to accomplish the work of the unit, and independently plans, schedules, coordinates and carries out the unit's activities.

Performs the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised. Establishes guidelines and performance expectations, including quality assurance, for staff members which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system. As a Supervisory General Attorney (Tax)-Branch Chief, you will:

• Act as a legal consultant to (CI) on some of the most difficult, important, and complex professional and legal matters arising in the administration of the Internal Revenue laws.

• Assess and prioritize work based on past experience, subject matter insight, and organizational goals and objectives. 
• Represents organization on panels and Post Occupancy Evaluation teams to identify and recommend design changes and to recommend new and improved design criteria and standards

Responsible for thoroughly understanding and ensuring compliance with applicable AOC and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety rules and regulations. Efforts ensure that work progresses in a safe manner and takes corrective actions to mitigate unsafe conditions. Ensures that Job Hazard Analysis’ are developed and followed and that required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is utilized.

The Suicide Prevention program serves to facilitate case management services to Veterans identified as high-risk on the facility High-Risk List at the Mann-Grandstaff Medical Center and Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC). The primary components of the program are to provide case management services designed to improve/maintain Veteran's health and mental health, enhancing their ability to remain stable, housed, and community-integrated.

• Weekly clinical contact as needed for high-risk Veterans discharged from inpatient status for the first thirty days -post-discharge while identified as high-risk, in collaboration with other treatment team members;
• Ongoing clinical contact as needed for Veterans deemed at high risk for suicide following national guidelines, and those Veterans placed on the high-risk list;
• Preparation and updates in conjunction with the primary mental health team of the suicide specific assessment, treatment plan, safety plan, and follow-up notes including treatment plan updates;
• Provision of minimum monthly clinical case management contact with all high-risk Veterans in the program;
• Coordination of all elements of mental health and primary care including active communication with all providers involved in the provision of comprehensive care to high-risk Veterans;
• Provision of evidence-based treatment to high-risk Veterans (i.e., group, individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and completion of specialized training and/or certification in evidence based treatment for high-risk behavior (e.g. Dialectical Behavior Therapy);
• Review/provision of comprehensive discharge planning and social service referrals to highrisk Veterans and families;
• Provides case management services while utilizing professional skill, objectivity, insight, advanced clinical training, and experience to interpret data identify viable treatment options, and recognize potential high-risk factors, acuity, and needs for services;
• Obtains any relevant HIPAA clearances to allow transmittal of facility data on suicide attempts and individuals at risk and transmitting the data following cyber security requirements as applicable for this sensitive data;
• Ensuring that identified high-risk Veterans have a 24-hour resource number to call and ways to get assistance if an immediate crisis should occur;
• Respond to consults from the National Veterans Crisis Line and internal facility calls regarding suicidal Veterans;
