BTB STEEL WORKS PTY LTD are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, with the ability to work on a variety of construction and renovation projects. The Carpenter will be responsible for building, installing, repairing, and maintaining structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and other materials.
Location- Perth, Western Australia (Post Code 6101 or nearby construction sites as required)
Type of employment- Full Time
Salary ranges from $75,088 to $79,040 excluding Superannuation
Responsibilities:
1. Construction and Installation:
o Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials.
o Construct and install frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
o Assemble and install cabinets, shelves, doors, windows, and furniture.
o Install roofing, flooring, and drywall.
2. Repair and Maintenance:
o Repair or replace damaged structures and fixtures.
o Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
o Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
3. Blueprints and Plans:
o Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project specifications.
o Plan layout and installation according to building codes.
4. Material Handling:
o Select and order appropriate materials for each project.
o Maintain inventory of supplies and materials.
5. Finishing:
o Apply finishes, such as paint, stain, and varnish, to completed structures.
o Sand, stain, and seal wood to achieve desired finishes.
6. Safety and Compliance:
o Follow all safety protocols and regulations.
o Ensure all work meets or exceeds building codes and regulations.
o Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
7. Client Interaction:
o Communicate with clients to understand their needs and preferences.
o Provide estimates and timelines for projects.
o Maintain positive client relationships through professional and courteous interactions.
8. Team Collaboration:
o Work collaboratively with other construction professionals, including electricians, plumbers, and painters.
o Provide guidance and support to apprentices and junior carpenters.
9. Problem-Solving:
o Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction or renovation projects.
o Adapt plans and materials to meet project specifications and client needs.
Qualifications:
• AQF Certificate III in Carpentry
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.).
• Ability to work with little supervision while handling multiple projects.
• Good physical condition and endurance.
• Minimum work Experience Required- One years or more, 38 hours per week.

• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
