The Supervisory Physical Therapist duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• The incumbent is responsible for constant surveillance and evaluation of the outpatient physical therapy program for its effectiveness, cost containment and operational data management by data retrieval, analysis, tracking, monitoring for productivity, clinic utilization, scheduling ,access, book -ability, encounters, consultation management and maintaining statistical data for decision-making purposes; developing and monitoring cost effective programs; helping CPM develop clinical policies as appropriate and develop methods and tools to scientifically evaluate program activities and effectiveness. Final authority rests with the Clinical Program Manager in conjunction with the Chief of PM&RS.
• The incumbent will arrange necessary additional education and training to all outpatient physical therapists and other special areas such as but not limited to various modalities, medical equipment, and new therapeutic techniques as applicable to general and specific disciplines, to maximize overall positive rehab outcome of Veterans.
• The incumbent will ensure outpatient Physical Therapists maintain current state/national licensure/certifications when applicable and maintain all therapists' high standard clinical competencies in specific discipline/field. The incumbent ensures staff will receive mandatory training in a timely manner with rare exception.
• The incumbent administers the leave program for the outpatient Physical Therapy section, approving and scheduling sick/annual leave while maintaining quality patient care with adequate staffing.
• The incumbent establishes Human Resources actions in the areas of midterm and annual performance evaluations, timely completion of performance appraisals, general and job specific competency assessments, orientation, help CPM with training of new therapists with rare exception.
• The incumbent closely coordinates/communicates with CPM and PM&RS office for personnel administration and management of work, adhering strictly to policies and standards of Medical Center, policies. He/she will discuss, investigate, and respond to employee grievances and dissatisfaction to resolve conflicts. Incumbent works with CPM with regard to labor management, providing information and resolving conflicts and/or problems that may arise. He/she will assure the CPM and Chief PM&RS/or other higher management officials are familiar with the negotiated agreement. He/she acts with CPM as the liaison with Human Resources office concerning personnel related matters including but not limited to coordinating and participating in disciplinary actions and responding to appeals and grievances. He/she attends hearings when requested. This may involve working with District Council and EEO investigators. He/she assists CPM and Chief PM&RS in projecting staffing needs, writing functional statements or position descriptions, developing job analyses, grievance procedures, performance standards, business plan information and disciplinary actions.
• The incumbent works closely with facility Patient Advocate, Customer Service Officer, Service Level Patient Representative (SLPA) and others as needed to resolve patient complaints and enhance public relations and activities. This includes investigations, correspondence preparations, and corrective action follow-ups.

Requirements:

4) Team player: They should be willingly to actively support group goals. They should be willing to show up on time ready to work wherever needed to get the job done

5) Knowledge: Spa massage therapist must possess a thorough knowledge of all body treatments and related application procedures, or trained in at least one of the following massage modalities, Swedish, deep tissue, prenatal, acupressure, Shiatsu, Rolfing, etc. They should also possess strong knowledge of local and state licensing laws and regulations, as well as knowledge of massage therapy and its impact on health

6) Interpersonal skills: Therapists should be able to develop strong rapport with members of staff, as well as clients and first-time customers of the spa. It will help them build a referral base and possibly repeat customers

7) Customer service skills: They need the ability to build relationships, deliver positive customer experiences, and handle enquiries and complaints, including unruly customer behaviour
