JOB PURPOSE
MSC is expanding their fleet, with new ships coming into service over the next few years. With this expansion, the number of Reportable Security Incidents will inevitably rise. The Fleet Security Investigator will provide support to the Head of Security Investigaton to oversee and provide quality assurance to the security investigation, this will include root cause analysis and training. The Fleet Security Investigator will sit within the Security Department, MSCCM Stockley Park Uxbridge, reporting to the Head of Security Investigations/Fleet Safeguarding Officer. This is an office-based position.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Utilizes the Security Incident Reporting Platform (SIRP) and supports shipboard investigations to ensure the accurate, timely reporting and recording of crimes and security incidents across the fleet. This may involve some assistance outside of office hours.
• Provides the Head of Investigation with advice on jurisdictional issues and best practices impacting crimes and security incidents across the fleet.
• Ensures all incidents are reported in compliance with Company, Flag and jurisdictional requirements.
• Audits reports to guarantee compliance with ethical and professional investigation standards.
• Overviews incident statistics and proposes mitigation plans.
• Supports in developing Security Standard Procedures related to Brand Protection.
• Liaises and maintains contact with both national and international Law Enforcement.
• Liaises and maintains contact with MSC Legal in the UK and globally.
• Acts as the first point-of-call for all safeguarding concerns in the absence of the Line Manager.
• Oversees and organises the Company’s Monthly Random Drug Tests.
• Deputises for the Head of Security Investigations, when required.
• Supports the administration of the Investigation discipline and inventory and procurement.
QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)
• At least 4 years as an investigator with a law enforcement agency.
• PIP trained or equivalent.
• Recent and extensive experience in compiling criminal/civil reports.
• Ability to lead and supervise security incidents and crimes occurring across the Fleet.
• Ability to work within a team.
• Flexible working approach, which may be out of hours and weekends upon occasion.
• Exceptional skills in verbal and written communication, diplomacy and problem-solving.
• Ability to cooperate for a productive team environment, and to travel at short notice overseas if needed.
• Recognised Child and Adult Safeguarding qualification [Desirable].
• Experience in a position of Security within the cruise industry [Desirable].
• Must be proficient in M.S Office, have excellent IT skills and be able to adapt to new software platforms.
• Recognised experience in training delivery. [Desirable]
• Understanding of ISPS, CVSSA, cruise policies and procedures throughout the cruise industry; [Desirable].
VISA REQUIREMENTS (if any)
• Must have relevant permission to work in the United Kingdom.
