This position is located in the Public Buildings Service (PBS), Portfolio Management Division.  This Division maximizes and enhances the value of the Public Buildings Service (PBS) real estate portfolio and client relationships.

This position has job functions that must be executed within specific geographic locations. The official duty station is a federal facility, leased space, or an alternative worksite (typically the employee’s home) within the specified geographic area: Chicago, IL; Springfield, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Milwaukee, WI; Detroit, MI; Grand Rapids, MI; Cincinnati, OH; Cleveland, OH; Columbus, OH; Minneapolis, MN; St. Paul, MN and Fort Snelling, MN.  You will be expected to report to a specific GSA duty location at least one or more days a pay period depending upon the terms of the agency’s telework policy.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Reviews extremely complex or controversial appraisals for compliance with laws and procedures, proper use of advanced methods, and impact on current policies.
• Advises attorneys on appraisal interpretation and testifies as an expert witness, if required.
• Reviews and analyzes very complex appraisal reports for the impact of recommendations and estimated values on agency policies, goals, and objectives. Reviews two or more complex appraisal reports for the same property to determine which provides a legal and more statistically defensible value to use as evidence in controversial or sensitive condemnation or tax court cases.
• Evaluates the impact of new or modified appraisal, real estate, tax, and environmental legislation on current and projected appraisal standards and programs and prepares important policy changes based on the impact. Provides guidance to staff and fee appraisers on the interpretation and implementation of new or modified policies.
• Performs unusually complex and/or precedent-setting highest and best use analysis, value of income streams for special assets, business value, value-in-use and return on investment value assignments.

This position will be filled at the GG-07 grade level. Incumbent may be advanced non-competitively to the established target grade upon meeting developmental benchmarks, performance requirements, and other requirements, as applicable established for the career program or specifically for the incumbent.

-Assists with conducting Federal Personnel Background Investigations, many of which are sensitive or controversial, where allegations, hearsay information, or other vague or intangible information of an adverse nature exist.-Evaluates individual's trustworthiness for access to classified information, placement in a sensitive position, retention in the military services, or placement in Federal employment.-Assists with collecting and developing information from a variety of sources.-Prepares reports of investigation in accordance with DOD guidelines and instructions.

What you will do 

Perform Installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting activities on Intrusion Alarm Systems, Access Control, CCTV, Intercom, Network infrastructure; PA Systems, Fire Alarm, and other PC based Systems. 
 
How you will do it 

• Perform installation and verification activities on Security related equipment for large installations, including installing, testing and commissioning 
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and specifications 
• Complete “As Built” drawings upon the completion of the project 
• Complete reports for submission to customers and carry out system acceptance tests with AHJ’s and other interested parties 
• Maintain up to date knowledge of various product lines 
• Consult with Clients to assess risk and to determine Security requirements 
• Participate in rotation on-call schedule 

What we look for  
 
Required 

• Must have working knowledge of equipment application, compatibility, mounting techniques, programming, and testing 
• Completion of Electronic Technician program or equivalent experience 
• High school diploma or equivalent 
• Valid driver's license; must be able to pass driving background check 

Preferred 

• Preference will be given to those who have IT standards and network topology experience 
• Experience supporting the implementation of analog, hybrid and IP CCTV systems, access control systems, intercom systems, wireless, intrusion systems, and fire alarm systems 
• S 98 License and/or Nicet II certification
• Must have working knowledge of local and national codes for inspection and test purposes 
• Demonstrated ability to program basic operations on micro-processor based systems without supervision 
• Proficient in the operation of computers and knowledgeable on MS operating systems (including Windows 2000 Server). Ability to configure PC hardware and application programs 
• Computer Network Experience and Qualifications would be a strong asset to this position 
• Experience working in the construction industry and construction management 
• Experience in the design or design assist in low voltage applications is desirable 
• Understand technical system architecture 
• Strong troubleshooting skills with working knowledge of electronic test equipment 
• Good communication skills and solid understanding of communication protocol 
• Excellent customer service 

Pay Range: $35-40/hr. Hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided though a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

• Ensure guest safety through proactive personal interaction and removing hazards in the area of responsibility
• Prevent and resolve altercations among guests
• Lead guests and other employees in emergency evacuation procedures and provide assistance
• Maintain control by circulating through your work area throughout the shift
• Check identification of any guest who appears to be under 30 years of age who is drinking alcoholic beverages inside the venue
• Ensure that no weapons or harmful items enter the venue by inspecting every guest with a metal detector or pat-down search
• Enforce House policy regarding photos/videos/recording devices
• Safeguard against theft and property damage
• Communicate clearly using radios, hand signals and flashlights.  Remain in constant contact throughout the shift
• Set up area before opening (stanchions, table configuring, etc.)
• Keep interior and exterior of the venue clear and safe, cleaning spills and removing food, trash or other obstacles, before, during and after the shift

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

Required:

• Ability to work late hours

• 3 years’ work experience interacting with people in a positive environment

• Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques
