we’re looking for a technology director to join us on our continuous journey of true nourishment

purpose |

the technology director provides clear and compelling leadership for the teams and suppliers involved in the running of wagamama’s technology products and services, all associated security and compliance, alongside taking an active leadership role in the delivery of all technology change

the role holder will play a pivotal role in driving the technological innovation and strategy for our product-centric organisation. you will oversee the entire technology stack, ensuring that it aligns with our product roadmap and business objectives. your leadership will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure technology solutions that enhance our product offerings and customer experience

key accountabilities |

• technology strategy: develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy that supports the company's product vision and business goals including a sourcing model that outlines the role that our partners/suppliers will play.
• product development: collaborate closely with product teams (restaurant technology, back-office technology, infrastructure + head office technology to understand their requirements and translate them into actionable technology solutions.
• technology supplier management: maintain objective scorecard measurements across all key supplier relationships and ensure that regular governance and oversight is in place through the product management teams.
• technology leadership: lead and inspire a team of talented technology professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• infrastructure management: oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our it infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security. ensure that our head office location is managed and well maintained and that all business functions have the use of effective an fit-for-purpose technology.
• technology stack: evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to support product development and operations.
• cloud adoption: drive the adoption of cloud-based + saas technologies to improve scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• innovation: foster a culture of innovation by exploring new technologies and trends that can enhance our products and services.
• technology budget + commercial management: oversee the ongoing management of the technology capex and operating budget. ensure that the department are well positioned across all supplier commercial arrangements and lead on any commercial negotiations.
• us technology: provide leadership + direction for the us tech lead and oversight of alignment of us restaurant estate ensuring economies of scale + service benefits.

• degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field

• proven track record of successfully delivering complex technology projects.
• deep understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., agile, devops).
• strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., aws, azure, gcp).

this role ensures that reporting across the product management teams, service & operations, cyber and change are of high quality, consistent and providing valuable insight and information to deliver continuous improvement. we’ll need your curiosity, reporting + data skills to shape our ongoing strategy as we continue to grow both here in the UK and internationally!

your role |

• gather, analyse, and interpret data from project delivery, product management, service & operations, cyber security including network performance monitoring tools, application logs, and business intelligence (bi) platforms
• support technology teams in being data driven and the provision of business information to support executive and other governance level meetings
• develop and maintain comprehensive reports and scorecards that track key performance indicators (kpis) related to technology infrastructure, project delivery, cyber compliance, application usage, budget management and system health
• identify trends and patterns in data to proactively identify potential issues and recommend solutions
• create clear and concise reports and dashboards that effectively communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience using your expertise to identify trends, conclusions and areas for improvement
• stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in data analysis and reporting

[What you will be working on]

Your responsibilities include the following:

• Liaise and collaborate with our staff and student users to identify and respond to their teaching and learning needs, through provision of our Library services and digital library resources.

• Identify and evaluate emerging trends and developments relevant to academic libraries and vocational education, and recommend best practices for a digital-first library.

• Produce user education and engagement content for digital and print publicity channels.

• Collate, analyse and write library reports, including reports relating to library performance, statistics, survey and feedbacks;

• Support Library Digitalisation initiatives and projects using data analytic applications such as Power BI and Alma Analytics to discover user needs and enhance our digital services.

[What we are looking for]

• Experience creating and curating digital content and using digital marketing and social media channels to engage our users and promote our library services.

• Good knowledge in emerging digital trends and technologies and its applications in the library; experience in Ex Libris’ Alma, Primo VE and Library Mobile App would be an advantage.

• Excellent writing, oral communication and presentation skills; and experience in conducting workshops and training, in particular information literacy classes is preferred.

• Ability to adapt and contribute to a diverse team of staff and adopt a user-centred approach in the provision of library services.

• Background in professional Library or Information Science with relevant working experience in academic library is a bonus.

Job Summary

Please note: This is a hybrid role and will work in the office three days a week.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Business Administration OR 4 years experience.
• 2 years experience in database and mainframe applications to include programming and database downloads.
• Proficient PC skills to include standard office software programs.
• Experience with strong knowledge of Microsoft access or client service development tools.
• Proficiency in basic programming.

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience with SQL Server
• Experience with GeoAccess software
