Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Projects Manager with a strong background in the Independent Connection Provider (ICP) process, electrical design and build, and substation construction. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing the full project lifecycle, including legal and technical aspects, and a proven track record of delivering projects to high standards, on time, and within budget.
This role is critical in ensuring the successful delivery of high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) projects, including substations, across Industrial & Commercial and Renewable Energy sectors.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management
• Lead and manage electrical infrastructure projects up to 33kV from inception to completion.
• Oversee design, build, and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and regulations.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address project challenges.
• Ensure projects meet all legal and regulatory requirements, including DNO and IDNO standards.
Design and Build Oversight
• Collaborate with design teams to review and approve technical designs, including HV and LV layouts, cable routes, and substation configurations.
• Ensure designs are optimised for cost, efficiency, and compliance with ICP standards.
• Manage the integration of fibre and other ancillary infrastructure into electrical designs.
Stakeholder Management
• Liaise with clients, DNOs, IDNOs, contractors, and other stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.
• Act as the primary point of contact for project updates, issue resolution, and client queries.
• Coordinate with legal teams to manage wayleaves, easements, and other project-related legal agreements.
Construction and Commissioning
• Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring all works are performed safely and to specification.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines.
• Lead project commissioning, ensuring systems are tested and handed over successfully to the client.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all HSE policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor safety, quality, and progress.
• Manage environmental considerations, including planning and mitigation strategies.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
• Proven experience in managing electrical infrastructure projects, including HV and substations.
• Strong knowledge of ICP processes and DNO/IDNO requirements.
• Expertise in electrical design and construction, including substations and HV systems up to 33kV.
• Familiarity with legal agreements such as wayleaves, easements, and land access.
• Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of HSE standards and practices.
