To give advice to patients and clinicians regarding the preparation required for specialised imaging examinations and to gain verbal/written consent from patients undergoing imaging examinations/intravenous contrast administration. To have a good knowledge of and be able to apply responsibly departmental wound management techniques for post interventional procedures and to give advice on aftercare. To accurately record/retrieve data on patients allergy status with particular reference to intravenous contrast. To communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and their escorts prior to, during and after an examination or interventional procedure. In particular to be sensitive to their fears/anxiety regarding an interventional procedure such as a biopsy and help the patient to overcome these so that the procedure may be performed.

Dealing with inquiries from patients, visitors, and staff in an efficient and polite manner. To ensure that all patients and visitors are courteously assisted and directed in a mannerthat will reflect positively on the service and the Trust. To escort patients by chair, trolley, bed or accompanying on foot in keeping with thecurrent regulations, and to assist in movement of patients as required. To transport equipment, samples and specimens to medical areas as required. To cover the Trust waste management operatives during planned & unplanned leave. Main Responsibilities and Duties Principle Duties of the Post The principal duty of this post is to provide a comprehensive clinical service to patients. To, at all times, comply with the GMCs guidance on Good Medical Practice as amended or substituted from time to time. To ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times. To undertake duties as defined within the attached job plan in so far as practicable and in agreement with your Clinical Director. To be responsible and managerially accountable for the reasonable and effective use of Trust resources that you use and influence, and professionally accountable to the Medical Director. On commencement to ensure personal attendance at the Trusts corporate Induction (or arranged Consultant Induction). To participate in the Trusts Statutory & Mandatory training programme. To be responsible for the Clinical Management of both inpatients and outpatients under your care. Management & Governance To maintain personal and professional development. The post holder will be expected to register with their respective Royal College for the purpose of CME/CPD and to fulfil the requirements of that registration. To provide advice, as required to the Executive and Trust Board, General Practitioners and other interested parties, on the provision of planning of clinical services locally, regionally and nationally in keeping with confidentiality agreements relating to Trust business. To co-operate in the present framework agreement of management arrangements. The job plan will be a prospective agreement that sets out a Consultants typical working pattern, duties, objectives and responsibilities for the coming year. On appointment of the post holder, the Clinical Lead will commence discussions to finalise the job plan which will become operational on appointment. The job plan is an indicative plan of the duties the post holder is likely to be asked to undertake. Additional programmed activities may be offered to the post holder. Any offer of additional programmed activities will be based on the needs of the service and in line with the Trust objectives and will be reviewed on an annual basis. Day to day management of surgical inpatients. Assisting consultants in the outpatient clinics and operating theatres. Participation in the on call rota and to provide cover in exceptional circumstances for colleagues absence. Assessment, care and treatment of patients presenting to the specialty and referred to the speciality. Teaching and training staff in other medical disciplines and mentoring of more junior trainees. Participation in relevant audit and quality assurance processes. Abide by the Clinical & Corporate Governance policies of the Trust.

To ensure compliance with the Catering Food Safety Manual, Trust policies and procedures and to the Food Safety Act and Food Hygiene Regulations. This post is for a Senior Clinical Fellow in General Paediatrics. This is a 6 month fixed term post with the possibility of extension depending on vacancies. This post is based at Queen Marys St Helier Hospital. The appointee will however work closely with colleagues on all sites, indeed the Trust expects all staff to be committed to cross-site working. During the post you will obtain experience primarily in General Paediatrics including working in a dedicated Paediatric Emergency department, Paediatric Day Care Unit and Outpatient work. The post holder will be a part of the Middle Grade Paediatric team, taking part in the on-call and out of hours rota as part of a full shift system that is fully EWTD-compliant. During this post the successful applicant will gain a range of experience in the General Paediatrics Ward, Paediatric A&E and the Paediatric Day Case Unit. It is anticipated the post holder will continue to develop their skills and experience in all aspects of General Paediatrics throughout the duration of the post.

- Involvement in the middle grade on call surgical rota 1:10 - Elective HPB/UGI clinics - Active involvement in the development of surgical SDEC and the re-development of the hot biliary pathway - Independent operating to include hernias, cholecystectomies and potentially anti-reflux surgery - Ongoing professional development including clinical governance - Support training of junior Doctors and trainee ANPs/ACPs
