Key Duties and Responsibilities 1. Removal of all foul/soiled linen and refuse to designated areas following legislative requirements. 2. The cleaning, changing and remaking of all patients beds/trolleys, where applicable. 3. Cleaning of bed once vacated by the patient, where applicable. 4. Dust control/vacuuming floors daily. 5. Damp mopping floors daily. 6. Damp dusting all fixtures, fittings and furniture daily. 7. Cleaning of all sanitary fixtures and fittings daily. 8. Replenish supplies as necessary. 9. To ensure correct use of all materials, machinery, equipment and fittings as per policies and procedures. 13. Collection of patients water jugs, catering glasses, wash and refill. 14. Collection of meal trolley from kitchen, wipe top clean and take to designated area where applicable. 15. Washing all beverage crockery at ward level where applicable. 16. Collection of clearing trolley from ward, wipe clean and return to designated area. 17. Prepare and distribute beverages to patients, including thickening of drinks when advised, in designated areas. 18. To work as part of Housekeeping team within a clinical / admin and social care bases. The post holder will be responsible for cleaning in line with the Medway Community Healthcare CIC and NHS National Standards for cleanliness undertaking general cleaning (including toilets and clinical areas) and related tasks to a high standard in line with NHS National Standards of Cleanliness, following the guidelines as set out in the daily schedules. Duties will include opening and closing the building if required. Carry out stock control/monitoring/ordering Self manage ESR training including logins and passwords, Manning reception on occasion to cover shifts. 1. Communication and relationship skills Work closely with Project/Estates/Contracts manager and supervisor to ensure requirements are understood and met. To work flexibly and communicate with the whole team, receptionists, estates team and service managers and within the clinical standards, if any issues arise and inform the project/estates manager. Ability to communicate with outside contractors/agencies as advised by supervisor/team. 2. Knowledge, training and experience Work with minimum supervision and as a member of the estates team, including. Maintain high standards of quality working practice, tidiness and health and safety. Previous cleaning experience is desirable, NVQ/CSE in English and Maths or equivalent. To attend all statutory and mandatory training both onsite and at other locations, attend any training essential to meet the needs of the sites serviced. To work in conjunction with the NHS National Standards of Cleanliness and be aware of requirements under COSHH, health and safety and control of infection as they affect the job. 3.
