- To work in accordance with all relevant Serco Policies & Procedures, Work Place Regulations and Best Practice Guidelines

Your new role
Working as a maintenance engineer on a rotating early and late shift pattern Monday to Friday, you will be supporting the site teams with fault diagnosis and resolving any failures on production machinery such as automation, electrical and mechanical issues. You will keep detailed reports and record any maintenance work via SAP (CMMS), drive continuous improvement via preventative maintenance activities, equipment checks and repairs. You will complete permits to work, risk assessments and method statements for all maintenance tasks.
What you'll need to succeed
You will hold an NVQ level 3 or equivalent in electrical and mechanical engineering, have gained experienced working in a manufacturing environment and have good working knowledge of automation, PLC's, fault-finding and diagnostics. Coupled with excellent problem-solving and strong analytical skills. You will have experience of CMMS systems, ideally SAP, and knowledge of root cause analysis, preventative/planned maintenance optimisation.

The Sterile Services Department is responsible for the provision of an instrument tray to all theatres, departments and wards on the St. Richards, Worthing and Southlands sites and supplementary instruments/packs to specialist users based in the community/district, for use in direct patient care. This service is compliant with ISO 13485 Quality System, UK Medical Device Directive 2002, Health Service Circular 2000 (032) Instrument Tracking, and the Health and Social Care Act. The post holder will participate in the provision of a specialised decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient. The post holder will perform a full range of decontamination duties, including - receiving, washing, inspecting, packing and sterilising surgical instrument trays, clinic packs and supplementary items. This is a manual physical role, the post holder will also use specialist (following training) decontamination machinery to process surgical instrument trays/packs. The post holder will be handling used surgical instruments, these instruments will be contaminated with bodily fluid and other bodily contaminants There is a total of over 60 WTE staff, a multidisciplinary group, consisting of the General Manager Decontamination Services, SSD Operational Manager, Senior Decontamination Supervisor, Decontamination Technician Supervisors, Decontamination Technicians, Administration personnel within the departments. Grounds Maintenance operatives are needed to work for one of the UK's leading landscape/grounds maintenance company.

Daily duties will include grass/ lawn cutting, litter picking, Strimming, Edgeing, Hedge cutting, Weed control, using mowers and powered tools and other general landscape labour duties as directed by the supervisor.
