An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technology Education Technician to join the School of Education.

In this role, the successful candidate will manage and deliver high quality technical support services across the teaching laboratory and workshop space used by the School of Education, including providing specialist technical expertise in relevant technological disciplines.

The postholder will have responsibility for the organisation and day-to-day running of the laboratory, workshop and specialist facilities. This includes ensuring equipment, apparatus and consumables are available for use as required.

In addition, the postholder will be responsible for overseeing the work of the teaching support staff and practical skills laboratory sessions for MDTechEd students.

This post is offered on an open ended (permanent) basis and will be full time (35 hours per week), during term time (36 weeks) to tie in with the University term dates.

Exciting opportunity to work for an established FM service provider situated in Edinburgh. My client is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to be based on a static site in the City Centre. The successful candidate will be mechanically qualified / biased (C&G or NVQ) with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance. Situated in a residential area of Dundee, Cygnet Wallace Hospital is a 10 bed specialist high dependency complex care service providing assessment and treatment for individuals with learning disabilities, with or without autistic spectrum disorder, as well as complex needs and behaviours. The team can also support those who have additional mental or physical health needs, as well as those who have been detained under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act. We accept emergency referrals and the team are experienced in managing them quickly and efficiently to ensure transition for service users is as smooth as possible.

Your day-to-day...

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service
• Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
• Maintain plant, services & vehicles in working order
• Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment & potential hazards
• Travel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours
• Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights

You are...

• Experienced in all types of painting and decorating in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence
• Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information
• Skilled at DIY & general maintenance
• Preferably Level 2 Diploma qualified in Painting & Decorating/Maintenance
• Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude

What your working day will look like;

• Participating in the entire dispensing process
• Checking and preparing medication orders
• Ensuring accuracy and safety in handling and distributing pharmaceuticals
• Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and healthcare professionals
• Delivering courteous and effective customer service at all times.

In addition to dispensing prescriptions, you'll also have the opportunity to:

• Complete and maintain accurate administrative records
• Manage the inventory of pharmaceutical stock and equipment
• Receive, store and issue medications and other supplies
• Monitor expiration dates and ensure adequate stock levels
• Provide healthcare advice and signposting customers to appropriate resources when necessary.

To be considered for this position, you must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), have an NVQ3 and have completed the additional accuracy checking course in Pharmacy Services or an accredited equivalent qualification.
