Lift Technician

We have an opportunity for a Lift Technician to join our Property Services team, based in the North West. Property Services is responsible for delivering a high quality and cost-effective property repairs, compliance and installation and estate services across the UK to mainly internal clients and additionally a small number of external clients. It is also responsible for operational Health and Safety of the service, including fire safety and delivering effective group wide asset management and reinvestment programmes.
The main purpose of this role is to provide guidance, advice and support to the Group on lifts installation, modernisation, servicing and maintenance matters to ensure statutory, regulatory and contractual compliance to minimise risk and maximise safety and ensure that best practice is employed across the Group.
The role of Lift Technician will include:
- Assist the Operations Manager in the development, implementation and monitoring of the National lifts installation and modernisation specifications, guidance and commissioning procedures
- Provide guidance, advice and support to the Group on lifts installation, modernisation, servicing and maintenance matters to ensure statutory, regulatory and contractual compliance
- Monitor and report on lifts servicing and maintenance activities throughout the Group
- Support the Reinvestment Teams in the delivery of lifts installation and modernisation programmes
- Develop and maintain sufficient knowledge of current and new lift standards and monitor developments in health and safety theory and good practice
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to EAL / NVQ level 3 in engineering maintenance (lift servicing) or HNC in lift engineering, Safe isolation (plus small works certificate) together with knowledge of LOLER and PUWER and a good sound understanding of HSE, currently undertaking the qualification or prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group
- Proven experience of undertaking a similar Lifts Engineer/Technician role, particularly a proven track record in fault-finding and trouble-shooting OG lifts (a range of different brands) on site
- Detailed knowledge of the Lift Standards: EN81-20 and EN81-50 and CIBSE Guide D
- Proven knowledge of Lifts regulations, legislation, current and good practice and related issues
- Previous experience of working with engineers, technicians or specifiers, commenting on building plans and approving design and specifications
- Excellent interpersonal, customer care and Communication skills
- Proficient user of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

- Role salary is £35,269 with an additional policy allowance of £1,005 per annum (rising to £37,126 with an additional policy allowance of £1,058 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
