Sterile Services Technician (Nights)

We are seeking Technicians to join our Hospital Sterile Services Unit Team in our Cambridge HSSU. As a Sterile Services Technician at our Cambridge HSSU Hub, you'll bring a basic standard of general education with proven literacy and numeracy skills. Ideally, you're able to show evidence of sterile services training.

As a Sterile Services Technician, you will:

• Help to ensure all equipment is in good working order, assist in the preparation of sterile and/or disinfected medical devices, under controlled conditions, to meet customer requirements.

• Regularly check medical equipment for damage and report any faults

• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment whilst checking medical devices for cleanliness, functionality and damage

• Take action to resolve any problems and monitor stock issues as they arise and advise their line manager when goods need to be re-ordered.

• Escalate issues where necessary

• Ensure all Internal Inspection Reports are closed in the timely manner and effective corrective actions implemented.

Ideally you will have:
To ensure success as a Quality Technician, you should have a strong working knowledge of inspection processes and test equipment, high degree of competence in interpreting technical drawings, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Motivated and passionate about quality with excellent eye for detail.

• Enthusiastic and effective communicator, able to collaborate with other functions within organisation.

• Confident and courageous to raise issues as and when required.

• Excellent knowledge and experience of inspection processes and test equipment.

• High-level of visual awareness.

• Experience drafting reports and collating data.

• Substantial experience of operating in an ISO9001 Quality Systems environment.

• Knowledge of quality tool for fault diagnosis and root cause analysis.

• A high degree of competence in interpreting technical drawings, specification, tolerances and drawing symbols.

• Must be competent in use of basic measuring equipment e.g. Vernier, micrometer etc.

• Experience in weld fabrication processes (desirable)

• Use of Q-Pulse (desirable).

• Experience of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principals (desirable).

• Knowledge of ERP systems e.g. IFS, CMM or laser scanning (desirable).

Education:

• Internal auditor qualification (desirable)

Experience:

• At least 5 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment as an inspector or quality technician.

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes. Including: MIG and TIG welding, joining technology, metal fabrication techniques, electrical and pneumatic systems, machining techniques and painting systems.

• Weld Inspection experience to CSWIP3.0 (desirable)

• Additional local needs

• Ability to stand for long periods.

• Hold a full UK driving license. Willing to visit Customer/Supplier, ad hoc meetings.
