This role will involve general repairs and planned maintenance to the site and equipment. A background in building services or facilities with knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning or refrigeration would be beneficial in this role.

This job provides direct care to patients and assists with non-direct patient care unit coordination. The Mechatronics Junior Apprentice (MJA) will learn to perform the job of a Mechatronics Junior Technician to install, alter, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic, mechanical, computer, control systems and components in a complex fulfillment/distribution center through the completion of a comprehensive classroom, laboratory, and on-the-job learning program. The apprentice will also train in and adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.

Participants must be able to attend a 12-week training at one of five colleges: Vincennes University (Vincennes, IN), Lehigh Carbon Community College (Allentown, PA), Wake Technical College (Raleigh, NC), Ogeechee Technical College (Statesboro, GA), or Dallas College – Eastfield Campus (Dallas, TX). Travel-related expenses, including room and board, during the training will be provided.

Participants will receive a fixed hourly rate for training, after successful completion of the Apprenticeship Program the Apprentice will receive a promotion to a Mechatronics Junior Technician position at an increased fixed rate.

About the role

The Field Service Technician II is responsible for performing various tasks, including but not limited to confined space entries, general site labor, tank, and industrial cleanings, working around heavy equipment, and Vacuum trucks. Additionally, the Field Technician II will operate various equipment, including but not limited to pressure washers, generators, pumps, power tools, hand trucks, and other powered tools, following company policies and procedures as well as OSHA requirements and all local, state and federal laws.

MORE SPECIFICALLY: This position works under the direction of a Site supervisor and/or a Foreman. The Field Service Technician II will be responsible for taking appropriate action on his initiative to prevent personnel injury, equipment damage, or property damage.
 

The applicant must recognize that this position will regularly require overtime work and active participation in a rotating Emergency Response team (occasional emergency work after regular work hours, prolonged work days, nights, and weekends).

Responsibilities:

• Working around  Hazardous and Non-Hazardous materials.
• Use of pressure washing  equipment, generators, liquid pumps,  and working around specialty vacuum trucks/equipment and/or other equipment as needed Perform work activities related to chemical, oil, and water spills.
• Daily work in confined space entry, pneumatic tools, electrical tools, hand tools and/or other tools as needed
• Work in confined spaces above & below ground and on & under equipment.
• Communicate with  the on-site Forman and/or Supervisor

Requirements:

• All employees must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check as well as a Motor Vehicle Driving Record Report.

• Experience in construction, environmental, or industrial preferred.

This job provides direct care to patients and assists with non-direct patient care unit coordination. • Participates in unit activity such as supply stocking and equipment/appliance cleaning, checks and retrieval. (20%)
