Job Title: Machine Tool Service Engineer
Location: Bristol
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm

Our client is looking for a Machine Tool Service Engineer, due to continued company expansion. They are seeking someone who has previous experience working on CNC control systems.

Your day-to-day duties will include the following:
* Decommission machinery on customers sites.
* Install machinery for customers.
* Resolve breakdowns and service machinery.
* Help power machinery & identify any issues on customer's receipt.

You will need the following skills & experience:
* Ideally apprentice trained or time served experience.
* Mechanical and/or electrical qualifications and experience.
* Ability to fault find on machine tools or industrial plant systems (including CNC Controls)
* Hydraulics & pneumatics experience

About the role

Responsible for ensuring that responsive repairs, including relets, are carried out satisfactorily from end-to-end of the process, including monitoring the work of the trade teams and contractors, from start to completion, ensuring delivery of high-quality work, getting work done "right-first-time" and achieving high customer satisfaction within budgetary targets and providing a cost effective, value for money service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pre and post repairs, exchange and relet inspections as directed by the Council's scheduling system and in liaison with the Trade Teams. Diagnose, assess and specify work required, in consultation with the customer. Order work through the Council's IT systems.
• Manage the delivery and quality of work carried out by internal workforce Trade Teams and external contractors, in order to maximise customer experience and satisfaction, taking the lead responsibility on dealing with any issues or complaints in a timely manner, ensuring any lessons learnt from these experiences are implemented as part of driving forward improvements to the service and continuously improving customer experience.
• Own repairs and complaints taking responsibility for actioning from end-to-end of the process. Ensure that where work is delegated or carried out by other parties, such as contractors, that over-view is managed and deadlines achieved successfully. Ensure customers are kept informed of progress throughout the process and that the work is completed to quality, financial and time targets. Champion an excellent customer/stakeholder experience with Housing Delivery Responsive Repairs.
• Take responsibility for maintaining excellent levels of communication with customers from end to end of the service.
• Manage customer expectation on escorted viewing of relets. Ensure clarity on letting standards and tenant responsibility.
• Specify the property refurbishment requirements ensuring the project is delivered to the target timescale and within budget
• Manage quotes from external contractors for specialist work, including achieving value for money whenever possible. Monitor and action dependencies, such as scaffolding checks. Ensure coordination and sequencing of work between teams and contractors.

Your new role
Your new role of Facilities Service Delivery Manager will see you reporting to the Facilities Estate Manager. While the successful candidate will be the line manager for a team of 16 employees based in Bristol.
Job Summary
As the new Facilities Service Delivery Manager, you will be tasked with becoming a key member of the Facilities & Estate Management team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and management of the services delivered. These are highlighted below:

• Maintainance
• Catering
• Housekeeping
• Landscaping

While the successful candidate will be expected to take a productive approach in the monitoring and delivery of services by contractors and the safe delivery of the department services. Additionally, the role will require a close working relationship with other departments within the organisation to continuously identify improvements which can be made to the service provided.

What you'll need to succeed
Key Responsibities

• Lien Manager, support and develop the facilities and estate Administration co-ordinators under the supervision of the head of estate and facilities
• Provide a safe, secure, clean, fit-for-purpose environment for all site users and visitors. Ensuring that all Health and Safety measures are met and compiled with.
• Be responsible for the performance and appraisals of all premise related staff inline with the Hospice's outlined policies and procedures.
• Monitor work routines on a regular basis
• Develop efficient working relationships with all key department supervisors making sure that all procedures and standards are being maintained by estate staff.
• Ensure all planned and reactive maintenance is completed within budget and timescale, while also ensuring all urgent repairs are archived within a given timeframe so that the hospice's environment is safe, comfortable and fully operational.

Key Skills

• IOSH or equivalent qualification for Health and Safety
• IOSH Fire Safety accredited
• A good understanding of Risk Management regarding fire, legionella, electrical and asbestos compliance
• Minimum 3 years in Facility and Estate experience
• Comfortable building and establishing relationships with existing stakeholders, and wider internal teams
• Being able to work a deal with work schedules of planned and repair works
• Display a positive attitude to any day to day issues which may occur

We are looking for a hands-on individual with a passion for maintenance & repair! You will be providing an invaluable repair, inspection and maintenance role to Avon Fire & Rescue Service’s fleet of vehicles and equipment - ensuring they can remain on the road and support your local community.

Some of the things you’ll be doing

• Carry out minor repairs to vehicles, plant and equipment as required, which may include jump-starting vehicles, replacing mirrors, fuel connections or small electrical faults.
• Carry out maintenance checks and top-up fuel, oil, water and other fluid levels to the required level. Maintain any associated records as directed.
• Conduct acceptance testing on specialist vehicles/equipment before collection and return to and from Fire Stations
• Carry out inspections of ladder gantries, completing preventative maintenance and repairing ladder gantries, on occasion working alone on station.
• On occasion, and under supervision, take the bowser to the operational fireground, decanting into other bowsers in a safe manner, and liaising with the control point of the operational fireground, refuelling appliances in situ. Be responsible for calculating and recording fuel issued, including accurate fuel readings, until the incident is complete.
• Carry out standard tests on operational equipment or appliances at the Workshops, and on kitted reserves to ensure they are all in working order and ready for operational use. Report any faults or issues of concern to the Supervisor and maintain appropriate records.
• Assist Workshop staff by collecting and delivering spares, fire appliances, workshop vans or other ancillary vehicles and equipment from Fire Stations and suppliers.

What we’ll need from you

• Basic mechanical or technical experience in maintaining and repairing equipment – this could be either commercial or domestic (e.g. domestic experience within your own home/own equipment)
• Current UK driving licence
• Willingness and aptitude to learn how to operate specialist fire service equipment e.g. Turntable Ladders, Salamandre Foam Equipment, Command Fire Apparatus, Welfare and Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) units, Hovercraft, Trailers, and Vehicles.
• Willingness and aptitude to undertake specialist training e.g. Hook Lift Training and any associated driving/training assessments
• Ability to work as an integrated member of a skilled team and adapt/flex when needed to changing priorities
• Computer literacy with basic keyboard skills including data input and use of software packages.
• Ability to communicate effectively to a range of customers/end users – always promoting a positive image
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy when maintaining/updating records.
• LGV ‘C’ class driving licence (desirable)
• Vehicle Towing Licence B+E (car + trailer) with demonstrable experience (desirable)
• Fork-lift licence (desirable).
• Previous experience in a workshop environment (desirable)
