• Incumbent will assist the Administrative Support Assistant with the performance of Timekeeping in VATAS to include, but not limited to, entering employee work tours, accurately and timely posting annual leave, sick leave, authorized absence, etc.
• Assists Physicians, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Recreational Therapists with treatments under direct supervision of a Therapist or Physician. Assists with administering clinical tests mild measures as directed by and under direct supervision of a Therapist or Physician. Assists with set up of clinical equipment as needed. This includes the unpacking of assistive devices and other equipment used by the service and/or provided to patients through the service.
• Performs basic fitting of assistive devices to patients and provides patient education the use of the equipment. Orders and monitors supply of assistive devices for all clinics under the purview of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. 2. Incumbent ensures that all scopes/reusable medical equipment, supplies and accessories are available and prepare prior to all procedure according to hospital established SOP's and manufacturer's guidelines.
3. Incumbent is proficient in endoscopic equipment/accessories used in basic and complex endoscopic procedures such as ERCP and EUS.
4. Incumbent has knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the GI system, with ability to recognize and report obvious abnormalities during procedures.
5. Incumbent assists physician with routine endoscopic procedures such diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopies and colonoscopies as well as and specialized, complex endoscopic procedures such as ERCP and EUS.
6. Incumbent attends gastroenterology section ambulatory clinics to assists physician with vital signs documentation, patient examination and pre procedure orientation to patients and relatives. Participates in the section's telephone triage program for pre/post procedure calls.
7. Incumbent interacts with patients explaining procedures and positioning the patient for the procedure, recognizing disabilities or impaired mobility, and assisting the patient as necessary.
8. Incumbent coordinates endoscopic procedure scheduling for those to be done at other hospital areas such as Radiology, Intensive care units, Emergency department, Operating room.
9. Incumbent transport pre and post procedure patients from and to inpatient area as well as to other areas of the medical center. Incumbent transport post procedure patients to hospital entrance to be picked up by relative.
10. Incumbent is responsible for the pre-cleaning of endoscopic equipment and reprocessing gastroenterology specialty critical reusable medical equipment (RME), following approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and universal precautions.
11. Incumbent uses basic computer systems and programs to record patient and endoscopic data, adhering to patient privacy and information security policies. Incumbent is responsible for assuring that all biopsies and /or fluids taken from the patient are properly identified, charted in the section's electronic logbook, and delivered in a timely manner to the Pathology Department or Laboratory. Keeps other section's quality logbooks as assigned by supervisor.
12. Incumbent is responsible to pre clean and disinfect non-critical reusable equipment and surfaces, dispose of one-time-use equipment and trash per facility policy, and restock supplies such as linens, suction equipment, and cleaning products. Prepares for high level disinfection/sterilization all reusable medical equipment and makes the necessary arrangements to have them reprocessed by SPS. Regularly cleans scopes storage cabinets.
13. Incumbent collaborates, communicates, and demonstrates customer service skills and interpersonal skills with all healthcare professionals to ensure quality and continuity of care.

Functions or Scope of Assigned Duties: This position functions above the full performance level for the Health Technician (Telehealth Clinical) position and serves in an advanced role. The incumbent performs a full range of duties and is responsible for day-to-day operation of telehealth services at the assigned location and between the assigned location and remote sites of care as well as participating in the programmatic development and advanced support of the facility-wide telehealth program. The incumbent is expected to be able to exercise independent judgement and will often provide guidance to less experienced staff members and will require minimal direct supervision. This advanced position functions above the full performance level and therefore requires the performance of higher-level duties which must consist of significant scope, complexity (difficulty) and range of variety and be performed by the incumbent at least 25% of the time.

The higher-level duties associated with this advanced-level position may include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinating, installing, maintaining and managing the inventory of telehealth technologies including hardware and software with assistance of Biomed and IT;
• Providing established standardized competency based training, guidance and information on the use of advanced telehealth technologies to patients, staff, and providers;
• Providing established standardized competency based training for telehealth technology, facilitating interactive simulations for clinical staff participating in telehealth programs;
• Participating in performance improvement activities aimed at improving the efficiency of the patient telehealth processes;

• Initiates ordering requirements of pharmaceuticals, specialty, and supply items through pharmacy prime vendors multi complex accounts or other mandatory sources.
• Assists in determining ordering intervals and stock levels appropriate to meet changes in formulary, brand to AB rated generic drugs, contract changes, conversions, new drug indications including backorders and seasonal changes.

1. Advanced knowledge of complex gastroenterology and pulmonary procedures such as mucosal resection and ablation, fine needle aspiration, and double balloon colonoscopy, using a variety of highly complex ancillary equipment, which encompasses 40% of their assigned duties.
2. Ability to plan and assist in establishment of completely integrated treatment and examination programs.
3. Ability to evaluate new products and equipment and make recommendations concerning developments which would improve clinical operations.
4. Ability to support local leadership in management of fiscal matters, forecast resource equipment needs, and submit required acquisition documents for routing and approvals.
5. Ability to orient/precept lower grade MITs in work to be performed, assist in peer review, selection of staff, and provide recommendations for awards, advancements, and, when appropriate, disciplinary actions.
6. Assists physicians directly with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as Colonoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, PEG placement, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) with spy glass, ablation procedures, mucosal resection procedures, fine needle aspiration procedures, capsule studies, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), ION robotic pulmonary procedures, and advanced biopsy techniques.
7. Assures sterility of procedural fields and operational safety of procedure-related medical devices, instrumentation, and reusable medical equipment (RME).
