We are looking to recruit self-motivated individuals to join our small, customer focussed, and busy Parking Services back-office team where you will be responsible for using computer systems to deal with all aspects of the parking, bus lane and moving traffic Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) recovery process in line with statutory processes and timescales.

- 887km of carriageways
- 2161km of footways, footpaths and cycleways.
- 300 structures, including subways, retaining walls, culverts, gantries and rights of way structures.
- 33,000 street lighting columns, 4,000 lit traffic signs and 1,500 lit traffic bollards.
- 44,000 drainage gullies.
- 127 signal-controlled junctions and 98 pedestrian crossings.

What is the job role?You will be responsible for investigating and responding to informal challenges, formal representations and appeals in line with Council policies, procedures, and legislation.
You will be taking telephone payments and processing refunds; responding to informal and formal disputes against penalty notices.
You will prepare casework for appeal hearings; attend adjudication hearings when required; processing applications for parking permits; providing other technical, legal and administrative support to Parking Services.
Who are we looking for?You need to have extensive knowledge of the Traffic Management Act 2004 (part 6) to provide a responsive appeals function that includes dealing with complex and contentious enquiries, either by telephone or in writing.
