Our Ideal Candidate:

It’s essential that the successful candidate has relevant experience of working in Emergency Planning. They must also have an understanding of the legislation, associated guidance and industry standards relevant to Emergency Planning or Business Continuity in a local authority.

The candiate must be willing to be on the emergency planning out of hours on-call rota, this will necessitate some out of hours working including evenings and weekends due to the emergency planning on-call rota.

Good interpersonal skills and experience of working with multi-agencies and partners is desirable.

Project Manager (Recladding) - South West London - Immediate Start

A Project Manager is required to oversee the recladding package on a large residential building in South West London. The scheme has just commenced on site and consists of the replacement of non compliant cladding materials across 6 blocks.

This is a logistically challenging London site close to a busy railway line and several other large construction projects. Candidates ideally will come from a civil engineering / brickwork / metsec / rainscreen / curtain walling / façade background and have managed on projects of a similar calibre to this.

The successful Project Manager will be highly motivated and be able to work in a busy, pressurised environment and have proven experience working to tight deadlines. This is a temp to perm role for a minimum of 12 months or until the completion of the project in December 2025.

The BSM is a member of the wider GPA team, made up of colleagues from a variety of political, policy and industry backgrounds. The BSM will be required to maintain and build a good political network in the East and South East of England.

Key responsibilities

• Devising a comprehensive regional engagement strategy.

• Preparing and briefing Ambassadors ahead of meetings with political stakeholders.

• Political monitoring of political and public policy issues relevant to the Ambassador's regions.

• Convening, and preparing for, roundtables and bilateral meetings with regional stakeholders including local MPs, Metro Mayors, Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) leaders (both virtually and face-to-face within the region or Westminster). This will require travel to and around both regions.

• Providing expertise and input into government consultations specifically affecting the regions.

To lead in the delivery and presentation of the financial element of the Trusts Annual Plan and to oversee the production of a reliable forecasting process Work closely with the Head of Finance MI, Analysis & Reporting to ensure the financial plan is accurately reflected in budgets. Model the Trust short term (1 year) and long-term financial plans taking account of the effect of cost pressures, service developments and income assumptions including revisions to the tariff and changes to national policy and legislation. To support the production of longer-term strategic projections in partnership with other senior managers and to lead on complex financial modelling displaying the effect of proposed service changes on the organisation. Requires excellent planning skills and knowledge of the corporate priorities and systems of the Trust to develop long term Service Business Plans that both progresses and influences organisational priorities. Work with the trust strategy team to ensure outcomes from the trusts strategic framework, clinical strategy and estates strategy are captured and reflected in the trusts long-term financial plan. To challenge assumptions with relevant individuals and to be responsible for ensuring that financial modelling is robust, accurate and in line with overall Trust objectives, assessing risks and identifying risk-mitigating actions as required.
