Project Management To manage and successfully deliver projects as part of the Theatre Productivity & Improvement Programme through a hands-on approach to achieve successful implementation. This post is based within the National Strategic Clinical Network for Diabetes. The Project Manager will work within the Diabetes network but also across a multi-disciplinary and wide range of stakeholders, sectors and agencies to develop a portfolio and body of work around improving services to meet the needs of people at risk of and who have a diagnosis of Diabetes. The Project Manager will work closely with others across other Strategic Clinical Networks and the wider NHS Wales Executive, to ensure that integrated and consistent approaches are developed across Wales, making the best use of available resource, while operating in compliance with the organisations governance policies and procedures. Who are we?

The CANDo Programme works for the two acute Trusts in Dorset (Dorset County Hospital and University Hospitals Dorset). We bring together clinicians and managers from both trusts into networks to identify where working together more effectively can reduce inequalities, improve outcomes, improve service resilience or improve productivity. We then support these teams in making those collaborations a reality. We work flexibly across two NHS Trusts, and around ten specialties with a mix of home and office based working.

Who are you?

We need an extra project manager for 12 months who is able to deliver all the core project management skills and on top of that enthuse, persuade and inspire collaboration. You should be tenacious and resilient with a positive and “can-do” approach, able to create and exploit opportunities to grow collaboration between teams more used to competing with each other.

There is significant computer work involved in the post requiring the post holder to sit at a computer screen for long periods of time.

There may be a requirement for moderate physical activity for short periods when moving records, paper or equipment.

The post holder will use advanced keyboard skills to produce accurate reports and communicate with programme team and wider stakeholders

Mental Effort

The post holder will be required to undertake work requiring a high level of concentration on at least a daily basis. The work pattern will be unpredictable and so there is a likelihood of frequent interruptions.

The post holder is expected to concentrate for long periods at a time transferring and documenting sensitive/confidential data into databases, spreadsheets and word documents. However, the work will be within clear procedures and processes.

The post holder must be able to prioritise workload in order to meet deadlines, both local and those set by Macmillan as part of this project.

Emotional Effort

There will be some occasional direct and indirect exposure to emotional or distressing situations.

Working Conditions
• This is a hybrid role where some homeworking and some office working is expected and enabled. A full time post holder in this role would normally be expected to be in one of the acute sites at least 2 days per week.
• Whilst the post holder could nominate a base from any of the acute hospital sites the post holder will from time to time need to travel to other sites in Dorset.
• There are no unsocial hours associated with this role.

Researchers are responsible for conducting open-source intelligence (OSINT) research for straightforward projects, retrieving and analysing public records and summarising the results of their research into clear, informative and accurately written reports.
