Bangor University is seeking a solicitor or barrister to join its team as Head of Legal Services to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months.

Reporting to the University Secretary, the post holder will play a significant, strategic role in supporting the University’s ambitions and delivery of the Strategic Plan.

Duties will include providing legal advice to the University and its subsidiaries, and when necessary, seeking advice from the University’s external legal advisers, as well as managing a team of contracts and legal compliance specialists.

The successful candidate will be an England and Wales Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with at least 4/5 years post qualification experience. They will have experience of commercial and contract law, preferably in a higher education context, or with transferable skills.

This is a temporary, part time role (0.8FTE) and the ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.

This role will be located on campus at Bangor. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.

What You Will Do:

Our Security Governance Sr. Analyst is a member of a service-oriented team with upwards to six (6) personnel within the Information Security Governance team that are focused on policy development/management, Engagement Data Security Plan (EDSP) management, Travel assessments, and documentation management. Effectively supports and executes multiple or more complex IT Security Governance projects that may span company-wide initiatives within scope, timeline, and budget. Applies technical knowledge to innovation and performance improvement while demonstrating critical thinking and sound logic when assessing problems and opportunities in generating solutions. The annual salary range for this position is $65,400.00-$98,200.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Your Role: Providing legal advice, counsel, and representation for insureds and/or CSAA IG before courts or arbitration panels and advises company employees in their handling of claim matters. Your work:

• Applies independent analysis and judgment to prepare legal pleadings, motions, statements, trial briefs, etc. with close coordination and input from claims specialists.

• Conducts all phases of personal injury litigation including jury trials, motions, and arbitration hearings.

• Works on a variety of moderately complex assigned legal projects including matters not in litigation.

• May provide coaching and mentoring to Attorney I and may serve as a SME for CSAA and the Claims organization.

• Identifies issues with major implications, high liability exposure, special circumstances and/or departure from guidelines. Refers to higher level staff for review and possible assignment of additional resources.

• Monitors and analyzes existing and emerging laws and regulations affecting insurance and tort litigation.

Required Experience, Education and Skills

• Advanced degree in related area that requires law degree and passing of bar exam

• Certification(s) and/or licensure(s) in functional area and Licensed in Connecticut (Massachusetts Bar a plus)

• 8+ years of experience in insurance defense practice with some courtroom and first or second chair trial experience

• Skilled in personal injury litigation including liability assessment, causation, damages, coverage, personal injury damages and causation and the tri-partite relationship

• Knowledge of general liability insurance coverage and CSAA IG policies

• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an organized and timely manner

• Proficient computer skills, including MS office and online research tools

• Ability to advocate creatively, persuasively and effectively

• The ability to think and act independently in a client’s best interest

• Knowledge and understanding of legal ethics

Position Overview

Autodesk's Desktop Virtualization Team within the Enterprise Systems and Experience IT organisation is seeking an Information Security Specialist to help safeguard our digital desktop computer systems. Reporting into our Cloud PC Manager, you'll work with the Autodesk Security Operations teams and help us implement security responses to threats, help implement monitoring tools to protect sensitive data and defend against cyber-attacks. You'll also assist us with maintaining security best practices and educating other team members. Additionally, you'll conduct comprehensive research on vulnerabilities to ensure a clear understanding of their potential impact on the CloudPC service. 

You'll also work with digital desktop customers to remediate security vulnerabilities on desktop OS instances.
