The United States District Court, Bankruptcy Court, and Probation Office for the Western District of New York are seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Information Technology Security Officer. The IT Security Officer performs professional work related to the management of information technology security policy, planning, development, implementation, training, and support for all court units within the district. The incumbent provides actionable advice to improve IT security and serves as a team lead to fulfill security objectives within the district.

Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate, and make recommendations on courts' technology security programs. Promote and support security services available throughout the district.
• Provide technical advisory services to securely design, implement, maintain, or modify information technology systems and networks that are critical to the operation and success of all court units. Provide advice on matters of IT security.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of local court unit security policies and guidance, the remediation of identified risks, and the implementation of security measures. Develop, analyze, and evaluate new and innovative information technology concepts, approaches, methodologies, techniques, services, guidance, and policies.
• Provide security analysis of IT activities to ensure that appropriate security measures are in place and are enforced.
• Oversee the implementation of security on information systems and the generation of security documentation for system authorization and operation. Manage information security projects (or security-related aspects of other IT projects).
• Serve as a liaison with court stakeholders to integrate security into the system development lifecycle.
• Create and employ methodologies, templates, guidelines, checklists, procedures, and other documents to establish repeatable processes across the district's information technology security services. Establish mechanisms to promote awareness and adoption of security best practices.
• Coordinate the court's response to SOC and virus alerts and handle remediation.
• Strive to meet all parameters as defined in the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AO) mandated IT Security Scorecard, and consistently work towards continuous improvement in the Court's IT security posture.
• Monitor and respond to day-to-day Help Desk activity, log computer problems, and troubleshoot and repair system issues. Provide information and assistance to end users on applications and software. Maintain high satisfaction (both internal and external) through successful and timely resolution of technical problems.
• Maintain and support the court's local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), wireless technology (WiFi), and virtual network infrastructure (VLAN) technology.

This Transportation Security Inspector position is located in Charlotte/Douglas International Airport (CLT), Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Transportation Security Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring security compliance of persons and transportation systems and entities regulated under the Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1500 series. You will perform selected assignments and progressively responsible inspection work such as:

• Conducting less complex inspections or portions of more complex inspections.
• Applying basic technical inspection knowledge acquired in formal core training and on-the-job training (OJT), along with any limited experience gained prior to or after such training.

This Supervisory Transportation Security Officer position is located at LaGuardia Airport (LGA), Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Supervisory Transportation Security Officer (STSO), you will be responsible for mitigating actual and potential threats against civil aviation and other transportation modes. You will also perform and supervise in your area of specialty, which may include Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) and Lead Transportation Security Officers (LTSOs) in the performance of all security functions related to the screening of people, property, and cargo through the use and application of procedures, techniques, and technology. In addition, you will make independent, security-based decisions using intelligence, critical thinking, experience, observation, and passenger engagement. Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting and supervising subordinate employees in conducting pre-board security screening of persons, their carry-on and checked baggage/cargo.
• Overseeing screening checkpoint(s) and/or baggage screening operations on a day-to-day basis to include equipment, personnel, and the scheduling and rotation of personnel.
• Participating in the development of new policies and procedures, and recommending changes in policy and procedures based on observation of work, as required.

• Serving as a member of the National Screening Force.

This position serves as a vital part of the JJP VA Medical Center Police and Security Services often serving as the face of the VA and as the first person a Veteran or visitor encounters when entering a VA facility. Major duties and responsibilities include:

• Provides physical security support for Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Benefits Administration, National Cemetery Administration and Veterans Administration Regional Office (VHA/VBA/NCA/VARO).
• Assists in evaluating risk and developing procedures and physical security measures designed to safeguard personnel, property, and operations from unauthorized access, espionage, terrorism, sabotage, damage and theft.
