Role: Prison Security Escort

Standard Rate: £11.44 per hour + 33 days holiday pay

As a Prison Security Escort, you will work alongside the prison service, assisting our client who is responsible for the maintenance of the buildings. You will be a part of security team where you will escort and oversee contractors such as carpenters, plumbers and electricians, whilst they complete their maintenance work.

Duties of a Prison Security Escort Include (but not limited to)

• Checking the identification of the contractors
• Checking contractors have been briefed on security measures
• Booking in and out of the contractors
• Creating a tool list
• Escorting contractors through the prison to their place of work
• Overseeing contractors whilst they are working (Please note you will have to stay with the contractors at all times)
• Checking contractor tools are all accounted for prior to leaving work area
• Using the radio to request permission to move contractors within the prison

About You:

• You will have good communication skills
• Have excellent attention to detail
• Be safety conscious
• Have been living in the UK for the past 3+ years
• Be able to pass security vetting (includes providing references, passing security police checks & providing photo identification)

About The Role:

Perform regular security patrols of the Trust grounds, buildings and car parks offering help and advice as required being a visible deterrent to criminal activity and anti-social behaviour. Apply PMVA de-escalation techniques as required up to and including application of restrains as a last resort. Undertake all relevant training to meet current and future evolving legislation. Provide escort duties as required to patients, visitors, and staff. Monitor CCTV cameras, ensuring compliance with the Code of Practice and Procedures Manual. Assist in incident investigation as directed by the Trust Security Lead Monitor associated Security equipment to identify any faults or damage and carry out basic repair/maintenance where required. Reporting faults as required Respond to reports of persons trapped in lifts, providing reassurance and assistance as required. To utilise the use of two-way radios, bleep system, telephone, and intercoms as an efficient means of communication. Undertake any further Departmental duties to reflect an effective, evolving health care service. (This may include transfer of patients and the deceased in support of the Portering function)
