Support with the day-to-day co-ordination of the Trust’s CCTV facilities ensuring compliance with the GDPR, the Human Rights Act 1998, the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Acts 2016, other relevant legislation (including Police and criminal evidence legislation) and the Trust’s own policies and procedures.

The role attracts Agenda for change terms and condition with 25 day’s holiday and bank holidays (increased depending on NHS tenure). Working hours are 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday with on call duties out of hours shared between three managers.
Parking on site is difficult at times and alternative methods of travel should be considered. There is good public transport services (Bus, Tram) with local park and rides for both City and QMC sites.
The role requires a close working relationship with the security team, access control and car parking staff, these relationships are the foundation for good teamwork, respect, and teamwork. The teams are split over three sites which must be given equal amount of managerial support. The work pace is fast and requires a dynamic and can-do attitude to ensure that service delivery is maintained.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
To promote that the primary duty of the Security Service is to ensure the safety and security of all persons and properties at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust and to promote a safe environment and reduce the fear of crime by providing a high profile visible presence.
To support the Car Parking and Security Manager in ensuring that all staff, including volunteers, within the Trust are aware of the Security Management Policy, and other associated / related policies, and staff obligations to adhere to them. Provide specialist advice on security issues and increase awareness amongst staff.
To take responsibility as required for addressing security issues as and when they arise. Where appropriate direct or conduct investigations for security incidents / breaches in a fair, objective and professional manner so that the appropriate sanctions are taken and consideration of preventive action takes place.
To provide timely reports, based on audit results, interrogation and triangulation of data covering all Car Parking & Traffic Management services for the Car Parking and Security Manager.
To deliver the quality standards and targets outlined in the Trust’s Risk Management Strategy and local operational policies and procedures.
To support with the provision of specialist security advice to all levels of managers, in all aspects of security and risk, where their operations affect the safety and security of patients, staff, visitors and the premises.
Where required, respond and support at a strategic level (i.e. Silver Command) all emergencies (e.g. abduction, missing persons, hostage incidents, pandemic evacuations etc.) relating to security within the Trust, liaising with the relevant Trust staff and the emergency services, to take follow-up action as necessary and to ensure that Security staff are instructed and trained to in their corresponding duties.
Support reviews and updates of the directly-related Security Service and Car Parking & Traffic Management policies and submit for approval, in addition to other security-related policies and procedures, within the Trust, and to promote adherence. To ensure that designated powers and policies are used appropriately when intervening at incidents.

To support the Car Parking and Security Manager in developing robust management, audit tools and frameworks to identify and address areas of concern with the car parking & traffic management service.
Support the Car Parking and Security Manager in ensuring triangulated information and data is available to senior NUH management.
To deal with patient and public complaints and queries and concerns and to meet with these people if required.
To support in ensuring that the Trust’s Key Performance Indicators are achieved and that the Security Service performs to the necessary service level.
Responsible for storage of data; occasional requirement to use computer software to create reports, documents, databases and spreadsheets.
To ensure cash activities are monitored and recorded in accordance with departmental procedures.
To attend court and give evidence in relation to any incident that he / she has any personal knowledge / involvement.
To ensure that all Health & Safety requirements are met and maintained, whilst actively pursuing and reinforcing the Trust’s policies in relation to Equal Opportunities and diversity legislation.
To ensure the use of department communication equipment is in line with departmental policies and procedures.
To drive Trust vehicles as and when required.
