CoStar builds and operates web applications related to real estate.  Web applications include Apartments.com, Homes.com, Lands.com CoStar.com, and 75 other web applications.  The backbone of our product security is our product platform security environment, which consists of commercial and custom developed security controls that run within the IDE, the CI/CD system, across cloud and Kubernetes platforms, and our product edge.  Our product platform security engineering group builds and operates centralized controls using infrastructure as code, scripting, and API integrations to scale security across all web applications in a consistent manner.

We're looking for a few more innovative, code driven security engineers to join our team and expand the features, functions, and flow of our product platform security suite.  Any level is an option - from associate to lead architect. 

This position is located in Washington, DC or Richmond, VA and offers a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

Features (responsibilities and goals) of our product platform security suite: (AKA - what you will be building and evolving along a rockstar team that learns from and pushes each other to do great things!)

• Real-time vulnerability feedback in the IDE for insecure build patterns and artifacts (1P code, 3P code, containers, IAC, secrets)
• Gate environment builds to enforce vulnerability remediation SLAs
• Dynamic run-time scans of pre-prod to gate vulnerabilities from escaping into production
• Continual attack surface management pen testing and exploit validation
• Cloud security posture management and workload protection
• Cloud IAM security
• Kubernetes run-time security controls
• Cloud platform threat hunting
• API Security management
• WAF and Bot controls
• Integrated runtime/drift vulnerability feedback into respective product dev team's bug tracking system
• Federated cloud security hardening, detection and enforcement
• Data security posture management
• Hunting for secrets and sensitive data leakage in logs, code, and documentation

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college (preferably in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field)
• A track record of commitment to prior employers 
• 2+ years solid experience and understanding of how to apply security at scale in one or more of: CI/CD system, Kubernetes platform, cloud environment, or CDN
• Demonstrated ability to author scripts or IAC from scratch in either Python, PowerShell, Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar language
• Experience working in a software development environment with a mature CI/CD
• Passion for solving complex challenges, innovating, and engaging in your work

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Strong communication skills with both software development and software leadership audiences
• In-depth understanding of various assessment tools
• Knowledge of infrastructure operations across databases, network, and system administration
• Ability to communicate with different levels of leadership conveying risk and driving urgency for risk remediation.

• A self-starter who can advance the application security program and follow-through ideas to completion.

This position is located in Washington, DC or Richmond, VA and offers a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

• Security minded experienced developer to author secure code guidelines, develop reusable secure code modules and templates, review sensitive code modules, and serve as a security SME consultant during product design and development. 

• Embedded security minded developer(s) to become an expert on how to consume all of our centralized security controls and apply them within a focused set of related web applications built by a common software development team.  These positions are matrixed between product security and product development.

• Threat modeling evangelist to refine our threat modeling process and tooling, train our engineering group on threat modeling, and lead threat modeling sessions for significant and sensitive headlining development projects

• Web application penetration testers join our in-house web pen testing team and pen test a wide range of web applications and their underlying cloud/web architectures and platforms. Operate and refine our automated, continual application and attack surface management pen testing systems.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college (preferably in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field)

• A track record of commitment to prior employers 

• Minimum 3 years total experience in a technical role such as software engineer or security engineer with at least 2 years as a software developer.

• Design, implementation, and operation of a secure software development lifecycle

• Experience with web application penetration testing and common attack vectors

• Experience with secure application development

• Experience with defense-in-depth strategies to help mitigate existing risk within applications

• Software development experience in a common programming language: C#, .NET Framework, Node, Web API

• Scripting experience - Python, PowerShell, GoLang, JavaScript, Terraform

• Security tooling automation in CI/CD pipelines and IDE interfaces

• Application security testing (DAST) through Metasploit, Burpsuite, OWASP ZAP, Acunetix, etc.

• Secure API development or management

CACI IS THE WINNER!!! of a long-term contract with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) for Transport & Cybersecurity Services (TCS) contract.  The functional capabilities are to provide the information technology (IT) infrastructure services required to deliver timely, relevant, and accurate support of national security.  TCS will provide innovative design, engineering, procurement, implementation, operations, sustainment, and disposal of transport and cybersecurity IT services on multiple networks and security domains, at multiple locations worldwide to support the NGA mission.

Team CACI on our TCS Program has an exciting and challenging opportunity available for a Cyber Security Engineer supporting an Intelligence Community customer’s wide-area (WAN), local-area (LAN), and campus-area (CAN) networks across multiple security domains. The position can be located at the Springfield VA campus.

What You’ll Get to Do:

• Work with both corporate and customer leadership to research, analyze, and implement enterprise-wide network security solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives.

• Assists with designs, analyses, tests, and implementation of state-of-the-art secure network architectures.

• Conducts risk assessment and provides design recommendations.

• Manage WAN, LAN, CAN, and remote network security as well as support Tier 3 incident and problem management. 

• Oversee security infrastructure sustainment, maintenance, and advanced configuration. (firewalls, F5 load balancers, web gateways, mail gateways, IDS, and management tools).

• Oversee the reporting, documentation, and investigation of all security-related incidents; lead the development and implementation of corrective measures.

• Responsible for the development and execution of standard operating procedures for security tools.

• Evaluate and report on new network Security technologies to enhance the capabilities of the network.

• Act as liaison to the contract and customer management and government Designated Approving Authority (DAA) about all network security status, policies, and procedures.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Related work experience considered instead of degree)

• 6+ years related technical experience in Network Security and experience with large-scale enterprise/global networks in a highly diverse environment

• Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI

• Ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph

• Required Certifications:
  -    DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification. (Security + minimum to start)
  -    Must obtain a CSSP Infrastructure Support certification within 6 months of the date of hire.

About this Role:

Key Role:

As a systems security and network security engineer, you can identify the Information System Security Manager needed to assess vulnerabilities and recommend the best solution and security strategy. We need your experience to lead the development and implementation of security solutions that will protect our military.

On our team, you’ll troubleshoot and analyze complex challenges for customers using your knowledge of network and security devices, applications, and identifying tools. You’ll use your curiosity for technology and market trends to further research and develop security solutions. Using your knowledge and experience, you’ll assess security threats and implement infrastructure controls. In this role, you’ll closely impact the DoD by protecting infrastructure. What You’ll Work On:

• Develop relationships quickly and easily with other teams, communicating the complexities of security with a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.

• Implement infrastructure and cyber security controls, including enhanced detection and vulnerability capabilities and improved event correlation in large enterprises. 

• Perform risk and vulnerability assessments in network, system, and application areas and leverage big data analytics and traditional security event types to identify advanced threats or indicators of compromise.

You Have:

• 5+ years of experience working as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) or Information System Security Engineer (ISSE)

• 2+ years of experience with guiding a client through the entire Risk Management Framework (RMF) process

• Experience with achieving system certification, accreditation, assessment, and authorization, including IATTs and ATOs

• Experience with engineering and integration of security controls and data-centric architectures to enable selective and secure information-sharing based on role, identity, and need to know IAW ODNI standards

• Knowledge of the systems and software engineering management process and its implementation, as applied to DoD acquisition processes throughout all life cycle phases

• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam

• Bachelor's degree

• IAT or IAM Level II minimum Certification, including GSEC, Sec+, CASP+, GICSP, CEH, CISM, or CISSP

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with STIGs, interpretation, and mitigation of results

• Experience with DevSecOps

• Knowledge of U.S. Army or DoD communication, cybersecurity, and IT systems

• Ability to apply Cybersecurity engineering methods to solutions development life cycle activities

• Ability to research emerging technology and apply it to cutting edge problems

• Possession of excellent presentation and collaboration skills

• Possession of excellent interpersonal skills

• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

• Bachelors' degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field preferred; Master's degree in Computer Science or Cybersecurity a plus

More About the Role

• Design and implement shell scripts to automate system maintenance tasks, enhancing efficiency and reliability.

• Configure and manage system logging, including remote logging, to facilitate thorough log analysis for troubleshooting and security monitoring.

• Establish and maintain networking services, including firewall configurations and SELinux policies, to ensure secure and optimized system performance.

• Utilize partitions and logical volumes to configure local storage solutions tailored to specific project requirements.

• Deploy, configure, and maintain systems, ensuring software installations, updates, and core services are managed effectively.
