About The Role
.Mobile Security Officer We are recruiting for a Mobile Security Officer to cover the Residential assistant role when relief cover is required at one of our sites. The role covers the South West and travel will be required.

This is a relief position working 12 hours per shift. The shifts start at 8pm and finish at 8am. The role will include weekends as well as weekdays and bank holidays working 48 hours per week. The hourly rate is £12 per hour plus attendance allowance.

A full UK driving licence is essential for this role as travelling will be required. You will need to have access to a vehicle. Fuel expenses will be covered. An SIA licence & first aid certificate is necessary for the role.

We are looking to expand our team which provides 24-hour support to residents at various Probation Service Approved Premises (AP) including security, welfare and monitoring services.

You will provide assistance and support to offenders to reduce their risk of re-offending, and ensure that residents, visitors, colleagues and the fabric of the premises are kept safe and secure.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role:

• Undertake regular inspections and patrols of the building, including patrols of common areas in accordance with local procedures /damage or defects
• Always maintain an active presence in the AP, always remaining awake and vigilant whilst on duty. Sleeping whilst on duty is not permitted.
• Monitor behaviour of high-risk residents and motivate residents to ensure compliance, and regularly engage with residents in a pro-social manner.
• Ensure that the AP is locked and secure during curfew period, and confirm the presence and wellbeing of residents overnight
• Support and create a safe working environment for staff, residents, and visitors by adhering to Health and Safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct curfew and night checks as directed and record details of these
• Deal with visitors and telephone calls and monitor the work of visiting contractors in accordance with health and safety policies.
• Undertake First Aid if required
• Adhere to all policies in respect of sensitive/confidential information.
• Monitor CCTV systems as required and take responsibility for all internal security, including access control.
• Respond appropriately to abusive or aggressive behaviour, supporting the NPS staff.
• Supporting the NPS staff with additional duties as required.
• Communicate regularly with staff through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas and that morale remains high.
• Ensure that the OCS safety image is reflected positively through your actions and those of your subordinates.
• Take responsibility for ensuring that a safe system of work is produced and communicated to employees prior to the commencement of the work activity.
• Ensure that work activities are properly managed and supervised.
• Work closely with the Regional & Group Health and Safety team who are available to provide safety advice and support.

To succeed in this role you will need:

• SIA Security Guarding Licence
• Full UK driving licence

The opportunity

The Application Specialist’s role is to define, develop, test, analyze, install and maintain new software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements.  This includes application installation and configuration, writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications.  This role will perform technology as well as research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.  Additionally, this role provides support for system issues, application and web services, vendor relationship, coordinates development and support many components of application portfolio.

• Coordinate and assist in defining software installation and small development project plans, including estimates, scope, schedule and implementation plans

• Work with key business stakeholders and business analysts to define attainable Service Level Agreements on operational targets and outcomes.  

• Lead, coordinate, and/or execute system support activities for a large portfolio of applications for CWB that is compliant with defined SLAs.

• Manage reporting, statement and batch processes to ensure that application content is updated and available.

• Leverage technology expertise to support team members in all programming aspects including trouble-shooting, development standards and cross training on all existing programs and operational processes.

• Contribute to and support in defining, create, and implement metrics and monitor for continual improvement of reliability, availability of critical and key applications across CWB.

• Assess application environment for opportunities for operational rationalization and centralization.   Make strong technical recommendations on opportunities for cost efficiencies and operational effectiveness.

• When required, design, create, and implement small development solutions in support of resolving technology or business problems and issues in a cost efficient, reliable, agile manner.

• Create and implement and communicate development standards for use by internal staff and third party strategic vendors

• Create and implement business application installation and patch update standards

• Ensure compliance by third party strategic partners on change management process as needed through testing, development or deployment tasks

• Coordinate and assist in defining software installation and development project plans, including estimates, scope, schedule and implementation plans

• Work with key business stakeholders and business analysts to define attainable Service Level Agreements on operational targets and outcomes. 

• Lead, coordinate, and/or execute system support activities for a large portfolio of applications for CWB that is compliant with defined SLAs.

• Manage reporting, statement and batch processes to ensure that application content is updated and available.

• Leverage technology expertise to provide junior team members guidance in all programming aspects including trouble-shooting, development standards and cross training on all existing programs and operational processes.

• Define, create, and implement metrics and monitor for continual improvement of reliability, availability of critical and key applications across CWB.

• Assess application environment for opportunities for operational rationalization and centralization.   Make strong technical recommendations on opportunities for cost efficiencies and operational effectiveness.

• Provide broad and deep senior technical expertise to directly coordinate the work of a small team or provide specialized assistance to a specific issue.

• Work independently on complex technical issues, make significant design or standard practice deviations based on depth and breadth of knowledge

• Demonstrate broad business and technical knowledge in resolving problems and identifying opportunities with a keen awareness of interrelationships with other stakeholders.

• Makes responsible decisions not usually subject to technical review on all matters except those with high budget impact or long term strategic dependencies

What you will bring to this role

• College or University degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or a related field Go further.

• Minimum 7 years relevant work experience and leading projects/initiatives. (Experience in Financial industry preferred)

• Team lead experience required

• Minimum 3 years Tier 2/3 support experience

• Development expertise in Java, .Net, C#, JavaScript, VBScript, SQL, Oracle

• Installation expertise in Web Applications, Linux and Windows server, Tomcat and JBoss

• Knowledge of JSON, REST and SOAP is an asset

• Experience in working with and managing onsite or offshore development and maintenance by third party vendors

• Experience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment environments

• Experience with agile development methodologies including Kanban and scrum

• Expert knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and practices

• Proficient in corrective and preventive Maintenance, configuration management and application performance standards implementation

• Expert knowledge of software architecture, multiple programming languages and communication protocols as required by the banking systems, interfaces and other associated applications.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Field Construction Technical Coordinator to join our team! The Technical Coordinator will work under general directions and independently determine and develop solutions with good time and project management skills, specifically related to technical aspects of  structural activities on the project.  Must be available for rotational on-call during peak times and be exceptionally organized with clear communication skills across multiple platform

What You'll Be Doing:

• Ensure the Construction is in full compliance with the Project Agreement, including matters relating to quality, safety, environment, and life cycle performance, such as Project’s ECO Plan, Health and Safety Plan, and all applicable legislation. 
• Review and understand project schedule.
• Proactively manage compliance with project schedule, budget and procedures
• Oversees and facilitates the installation of equipment and components for a project to ensure contractors are fulfilling all obligations and that work is carried out according to approved contracts, specifications, and schedules.
• Serves as a liaison with project management reporting on inspections, subcontracting, progress, and delays
• Participates in project meetings and facilitates regularly-scheduled meetings related to execution and deliverables for the project.
• Supports integration of project data such as but not limited to schedule, estimate, documentation, cost reports and performance data etc.
• Interpret designs and drawings for technicians
• Track RFIs, Shop Drawings, As-built drawings and other project documents.
• Proactively identifies and works to resolve any site issues that may impede the project delivery.
• Provides technical knowledge and input to assist installing contactors

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Demonstrated understanding of basic engineering and construction concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, (Structural) Construction Management or similar field from an Accredited Institution
• 5+ years of demonstrated self-performing experience in the construction field, on large, complex, heavy civil transportation projects (Road & Highways, Bridge & Tunnel or Rail & Transit, Large buildings).
• Valid driver's license, clean abstract preferred ​
• Must be able to work on-site for the duration of the project
• Must be able to negotiate the terrain of an in-process construction site and perform frequent site visits, working in all types of Northern Alberta weather, outdoors, at-heights, noise, dust, as required.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Experience in relevant infrastructure BIM applications. Experience with 3D, 4D models.
• Strong communication skills and ability to identify and resolve complex issues
• Ability to work in a cost effective, customer focused, team-based environment. 
• Effective team participation and ability to coordinate work of drafters.
• Previous experience in heavy civil infrastructure projects is a specific asset.
• Must be able to negotiate the terrain of an in-process construction site, including stairs, ladders, working outdoors in all types of Edmonton weather, at-heights, noise and dust ​
