[What the role is]
To capture the potential and opportunities of the unmanned systems sector and emerging technology for Singapore, the Unmanned Systems Technology, Engineering and Planning (UTEP) Division assesses, identifies, and forges partnerships with Industry, other Civil Aviation authorities, and research entities to grow new business areas, initiate greenfield research and develop capabilities. The Division also focuses on systems engineering, technology capabilities and resourcing for unmanned systems, such as the integration, implementation, and operational oversight of the maintenance of Counter-UAS systems.

One specific workstream on emerging technology is assessing the feasibility of and driving the adoption of alternative fuels and related technology such as hydrogen and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles for the aviation sector. We are hiring an officer to drive the emerging technology workstream on alternative fuels and related technology in UTEP Division. In this role, the officer plans, strategises, coordinates and implements initiatives to drive the adoption of alternative fuels and related technology at the airports in Singapore, including looking into technologies such as hydrogen fuel cell powered airside vehicles and hydrogen-powered aircraft operations. Responsibilities
• Monitor and assess key emerging trends and developments in clean energy fuel technology for the aviation sector globally (e.g. technology, CONOPs, regulations, supply chain, readiness of other airports, fuel price), and sense-make the implications for CAAS and Singapore.
• Prepare, publish, and award grant / call for proposals to pilot/trial the use of alternative fuels and related technology such as hydrogen fuel cell vehicles at Seletar Airport and Changi Airport, and manage the awarded projects from end-to-end to achieve CAAS’ objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Responsible for all technical support related aspects at a specific customer: escalations, fleet performance, system installations, improvement programs and upgrades.
