Your new role
Based in Oxfordshire, my client is looking for a Technology Director to join their team to head up a department of 30 (with growth plans of up to 50) people. The department consists of multidisciplinary technology teams working on some of the world's most exciting projects and research. Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Provide strong leadership for the department.
• Manage and grow a team of Computer/Data Science, HPC, and AI/ML experts.
• Develop and maintain a strategy for actionable, scale-out simulation and data science/AI/ML capability.
• Ensure all R&D and developed software assets meet stringent QA requirements.
• Oversee and execute programmes, managing change activities within the Computing Division.
• Communicate progress and activities across multiple programmes, both internally and externally.
• Facilitate the adoption of best practices and standards in software development.
• Evaluate and enhance the capability of the department across the organisation.
• Promote the use of scale-out computing and AI/ML methods.
• Advocate for new and disruptive technologies with internal stakeholders.
• Develop and deliver training to increase the understanding and adoption of transformative solutions in HPC/AI/ML.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential:

• Master's degree, PhD, or equivalent experience in a relevant STEM subject.
• Significant experience leading teams in an R&D or Engineering capacity.
• Proven ability to manage broad portfolios of £10 million+ including work, budgets, and schedules.
• Significant people management experience for teams of 20+ technology professionals.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing at all levels.
• Deep understanding of modern software engineering practices and simulation domains.

Desirable:

• Experience in digital innovation within the fusion sector or similar fields.

Your new role
This is a permanent position, working closely with the CEO, VP Biometrics and other senior stakeholders to ensure clinical (and potentially other, earlier discovery) technologies remain compliant with regulatory requirements as well as driving innovation within this space, eg through the adoption of new processes/technologies/software, etc.The company is ideally looking for candidates to spend some time in office, but the exact amount is open for discussion dependent on candidate location and other factors.
Major responsibilities will include a mix of (but aren't limited to):

• Establish the implementation roadmap for all clinical technologies that enable clinical trial management and data collection mechanisms
• Develop, manage and implement processes for clinical technology adoption and management, eg software solutions
• Drive new technology solutions for site visits, clinical monitoring, risk management and provide clinical operations colleagues with innovative ways to make a broader impact on the lives of the patients in our studies
• Oversee / manage projects to integrate and implement new technologies within clinical data capture or similar
• Manage the creation of new - and optimisation of existing - quality management processes
• Liaise with colleagues, eg within IT, Clinical Operations, Biometrics, QA & Regulatory Affairs, to ensure clinical trial activities are properly integrated / aligned to protocols
• Manage, implement, and develop solutions in site start-up, study recruitment/conduct, and data capture processes across multiple clinical technology programmes
• Act as a technical expert and leader within the business
• Drive best practice within the business

What you'll need to succeed
As well as strong communication skills for dealing with collaborators, stakeholders and vendors/CROs, you should have:

• A BSc (or equivalent experience) in a discipline such as computer science, biometrics, statistics, IT, or a life sciences discipline such as chemistry, biochemistry or biology
• Experience of the clinical drug development environment including experience in clinical software development and application deployment is essential, whether from a QA/CSV standpoint, or the data management/clinical operations side
• Deep expertise of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to clinical research, ensuring compliance throughout all stages of clinical trials
• Proven ability to design and/or develop technology solutions deployed in clinical trials - such as CTMS or other relevant technologies

Familiarity with navigating the clinical trial lifecycle and adhering to 21-CFR Part 11 regulations and validation processes

• Well-versed in the utilisation of common tools and technologies within clinical trials, including TMF, CTMS, DCT, and eSource, EDC, etc
• The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and effectively prioritise between competing requirements

Experience of rare disease / small cohort trials would be an advantage, but is not necessary for this role.

This change agent will support the TA team in streamlining TA operations, developing and reporting on talent acquisition metrics, and implementing new technology solutions.  This leader will report to the VP of Talent Acquisition.  In this role, you will be a strategic leader who is solution-driven and results-oriented and will work collaboratively across the enterprise to evaluate TA vendor solutions, design, build, and implement technology solutions, as well as manage and enhance deployed applications.

As the Technology Director Talent Acquisition, you will be accountable for delivering on the following:

• lead all tech initiatives and support across the TA tech stack, including, but not limited to, workflow creation and updates, system fields, implementation and integrations, user groups/access, new users, user dashboards, reporting, user training, system and process documentation, and more.
• Leverage data insights for talent acquisition strategy (inclusive of our technology and processes) with a continuous improvement mindset, proactively identify improvement opportunities and lead the execution.
• Generate and implement innovative solutions and an understanding of how to take programs from ideation to execution.
• Ability to parse out technology challenges vs. process challenges and efficiently come up with successful solutions
• React to shifting priorities to meet business needs and advise on best practices related to optimizing TA functionality and effectiveness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy / Problem Solving

• Design, implement and administer operating strategies – with an ability to allocate resources and time in a manner commensurate with expected value
• Research, analyze, review, document, communicate and rationalize capabilities and value of IT in alignment with IT strategy and manage expectation for IT demand and services to meet business needs
• In collaboration with CenIT and the business, ensure governance and compliance with legislation, DaVita policies and procedures, and overall IT strategy in the execution of project portfolios and capability roadmap realization, and measure quality and business value of IT investments to ensure customer satisfaction
• Ensure an answer-first and teammate centered approach

Project management

• Monitor metrics, track progress of initiatives, and prepare presentations for senior management
• Regularly apprise the Talent Acquisition leadership team on project status and variations from schedule or scope
• Scope, plan and execute multiple, often quick-turnaround projects with minimal assistance
• Advocate and lead business process focus by ensuring IT is integrated in the day-to-day working and decision-making of the business utilizing various tools such as mapping, modeling, workflow analysis, gap analysis, use cases and blueprinting

Leadership and collaboration

• Build relationships within the People Services organization and across diverse departments
• Lead not just through title but through influence, providing strategic guidance and effecting change outside of lane in interest of bettering overall organization

Qualifications

• BA required; MBA or advanced degree (MHA, MPH, MD, PhD) highly preferred
• Minimum 4-6 years related IT and/or consulting work experience managing complex IT projects in medium to large size matrix corporate environments preferred
• Strong experience working with a variety of talent acquisition technologies (ATS, HRIS, CRM, sourcing tools, etc.)
• Ability to identify and analyze data to develop strategic recruiting solutions
• Strong project management skills, can objectively collect/assess requirements and scope of work
• Strong analytical skills and ability to understand data trends and make recommendations based on data analysis
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for building consistent and scalable processes
• Relevant experience in frontline healthcare operations leadership, particularly in dialysis, a plus but not required
• Ability to build partnerships, manage stakeholders, and work collaboratively with cross-functional partners
• Travel requirement varies based on office location; Denver preferred but open to remote

Computational Biology is at the heart of our antigen discovery platform and will be key in enabling our novel biologics discovery workflows with the exciting goal of building novel platforms and processes to develop dark-antigen targeting, bi-specific, T cell engagers.


Enara Bio's purpose is to shine a light on unconventional T cell targets to develop cancer immunotherapies designed to provide lasting benefit for broad patient populations. Our proprietary EDAPT™ platform enables us to discover a novel and differentiated class of cancer-specific targets from the genomic dark matter, which we call Dark Antigens™. Your new role
As the Senior Director/VP of Computational Biology you will be developing and implementing new strategies to support and improve our existing bioinformatic pipelines and deploy new computational biology capabilities throughout our established biologics discovery pipeline, as we progress impactful immunotherapies towards the clinic.


As the Head of the Computational Biology function, you will lead an established team of bioinformaticians, computer scientists and data managers. You will support the development of individuals and drive the growth of the function in line with our Research strategy.


As a subject matter expert in Computational Biology, you will also define the overall strategy of how Computational Biology can drive forward and enhance all aspects of our R&D pipeline and be a key advisor to the Leadership Team in these matters.


As a senior leader within Research you will be part of a key team developing and delivering the broader research strategy. You will also influence the operation of our Research division as we continue to build an ecosystem that enables each of us to do our best work, ensuring our core pillars of purpose, authenticity and self-management are embedded across the teams.
