My Devon-based public sector client is currently going through an exciting transformation in how they use data and technology innovation to support their organisation.
As the Assistant Director of Data, Innovation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI), you will oversee a team of approximately 30 professionals, driving transformative change through the implementation of cutting-edge technologies. Your leadership, ambition, and empathy will inspire colleagues throughout the South West of England, empowering them to deliver the highest standard of care to our patients.
Responsibilities will include;
-Provide exemplary leadership to a team of approximately 30 colleagues, setting ambitious objectives and fostering their professional growth.-Oversee the implementation of our Data and Innovation Strategies, managing complex transformations across multiple concurrent projects.-Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Board-level executives.-Ensure the seamless operation of data and innovation services, delivering critical outputs on time with robust resilience and scalability.-Lead the development of innovative data solutions using advanced technologies.-Maintain data quality and assurance by establishing and enforcing a governance framework.-Enhance data literacy across the Trust and the South West region, ensuring a unified version of truth and maximising the benefits of our solutions.-Contribute to regional and national initiatives by integrating and sharing critical data between NHS organisations, while safeguarding patient data security and governance.-Champion thought leadership in emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation, and Machine Learning.
Essential Criteria;
- MSc or substantial evidenced experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Artificial Intelligence, Enterprise Architecture, Data Science, or Computer Science.
- Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development.
- Recent or current senior management experience at a comparable level in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in developing and applying modelling tools and techniques to enhance organisational performance.
Desirable Criteria:
- PRINCE2 qualification or equivalent in Agile or Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Experience with NHS datasets.
- Proven experience in the implementation and benefits realisation of AI and/or RPA projects, with documented learning outcomes.
- Demonstrable evidence of identifying opportunities for efficiency and productivity improvements against relevant benchmarks, and establishing mechanisms to monitor their delivery.
