QA Business Improvement Manager – Defence and Security Systems - Permanent – Attractive – Berkshire
A QA Business Improvement Manager is required to join a Defence and Security Systems company that specialises in the design, development and manufacture of advanced sensor systems, The company’s innovative technology supports customers in the defence and security markets. The QA Business Improvement Manager will be part of the Senior Staff team.
The successful QA Business Improvement Manager will report to the CEO and will be responsible for leading and developing the Quality Assurance and Business Improvement functions. The QA Business Improvement Manager role includes management of the company Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental, Health & Safety Management System and Business Improvement activities across the business. The purpose of the QA Business Improvement Manager role is to drive a culture, tools and processes which will assure the Quality, Safety, Efficiency and Environmental excellence across the life-cycle of the business.
QA Business Improvement Manager will be responsible for the following:
• Contributing to the leadership as a member of the Senior Staff Team.
• Quality Assurance, across the full life-cycle of business operations.
• Business Improvement, Quality Control, Environmental and Health and Safety.
• Drive a proactive, customer-focused and world-class approach to the Quality of all activities.
• Ensure that stakeholder expectations are clearly identified and consistently exceeded.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations.
• Own the continuous improvement of the QMS and EHSMS.
• Drive continuous improvement of process effectiveness and efficiency.
• Maintain Quality Assurance, Environmental and Health and safety, and Security certifications.
• Approval and Quality Assurance management of suppliers.
• Pro-actively identify and manage risks and opportunities across the business.
• Identify opportunities for Business Improvement and driving these to realisation.
• Lead cross-functional Business Improvement programs.
• Line management & leadership to the Quality team ensuring appropriate capability & business needs.
• Develop Quality Assurance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and continuously developing.
• Support the Strategic planning and execution of the business plan across the business functions.
• Provide support to peers in the Senior Staff Team to ensure that all functions of the business are met.
The QA Business Improvement Manager should have the following Qualifications Skills/Experience:
• Degree level of Education or equivalent ideally in a technically related subject.
• A recognised lead auditor or a company-approved supplier auditor qualification.
• Experience in leading Quality Assurance and Business Improvement within a engineering business.
• Able to demonstrate experience in the design and manufacture of electromechanical products.
• Experience in the use and application of Lean and/or Six Sigma.
• Experience in leading teams and line management.
• Coaching and developing team members to achieve outstanding results and managing performance.
• Experience of operating in ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 environments and to industry-specific standards.
• Experience in taking responsibility for the Environmental, Health & Safety.
• Quality-driven with a business appreciation and focus.
• The ability to lead people with respect, tact and diplomacy.
• Able to provide a calm, reasoned and balanced view, with a high level of gravitas.
• Passionate about pro-actively and tactically supporting and caring for our customers.
• Able to always operate in accordance with the company values and behaviours.
**Security Clearance (SC) may be required due to the Defence and Security products involved**
