Your new role
The role holder will be responsible for the successful delivery of key elements of the organisation's diversity and inclusion programme. This will include leading on projects and activities within the EDI strategy.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Design, develop, and project manage the successful delivery of a programme of activities and projects that align with the diversity strategy, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the agreed scope.
- Influence various policies to support the organisation's ambition and cause.
- Collaborate with other societies, professional bodies, and government entities to research, develop, and implement policies on multiple issues.
- Create and maintain strong diversity and inclusion partnerships to maximise the organisation's diversity and inclusion efforts and impact.
- Focus on multiple diversity strands and unprotected characteristics, such as socioeconomic diversity, to widen participation in STEM education, training, and employment, taking an intersectional approach.
- Undertake or commission research into specific areas/questions to determine what actions the organisation should take to improve diversity and inclusion in STEM.
- Provide guidance and support to the Diversity and Inclusion team members and line managers to ensure they can deliver their roles to a high standard.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel and Power BI
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret complex data sets.
- Ability to transform data into actionable insights and compelling narratives.
What you'll need to succeed
- An understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and relevant sections of the Data Protection Act 1998
- An enthusiastic team player, with experience of collaborative working
- Highly skilled oral and written communication with a range of audiences
- Able to command the confidence of people at all levels of seniority
- Self-organisation and management of several tasks simultaneously
- Highly motivated and an ability to elicit similar motivation in others
- Knowledge of office systems and procedures and good IT skills
- Experience successfully managing and delivering complex projects
- Experience writing, editing, and disseminating reports
- Experience establishing and maintaining a network of contacts
- Events management experience
- Line management experience
- Diversity data collection, monitoring and analyses experience
