Job Description
This Leader role within Global Procurement is responsible for the development and execution of category management strategies, aligning with both long-term goals and immediate business plans. The key responsibilities encompass overseeing the creation and delivery of value from the supplier base, strategically mitigating risks, reducing costs, and consistently surpassing business and customer expectations.
Accountability extends to managing a $200 million expenditure for Corporate HR and Professional Services. This includes Corporate Communications, HR, Pension, Finance, and global consulting agreements. Additionally, it covers Total Rewards, incorporating Compensation, Medical & Dental Insurance, and other benefits, with a primary focus on the North and South Americas.
The role also involves the vigilant oversight and cross-business stewardship of a $500 million global spend. This spans Professional Services, HR, Marketing, Communications, Legal, and Travel, demanding a comprehensive approach to ensure alignment with overarching business objectives.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Collaborate with department management, contributors, and senior leadership to develop and apply multi-year strategies for market conditions and organizational needs.
- Drive projects by guiding stakeholders, utilizing project management principles, and meeting timelines and deliverables.
- Evaluate cross-region opportunities, drive global initiatives, and provide consultation across multiple regions.
- Negotiate agreements with other organizations, establishing clear strategies and responses to various tactics.
- Systematically identify and evaluate risks within the category, implementing strategies for continuity of supply.
- Identify, forecast, and execute cost-out opportunities using a multi-year strategy.
- Create industry-wide networks, internal relationships, and subject matter expertise in the category.
- Use Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) techniques for innovation and competitive advantage.
- Apply expertise and seek input regarding technical, legal, geographic, and commercial facets.
- Guide stakeholders in multi-level negotiations to achieve desired business results.
- Negotiate contract language, provide recommendations, and ensure contracts with key suppliers.
- Regularly utilize a strategic sourcing process from planning through performance monitoring.
- Create market intelligence on global markets, suppliers, and key material indexes within the category
WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
- Bachelor’s degree required for role; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- 8-10 years of strategic procurement experience, or relevant technical / business leadership experience.
- Professional certification from related professional body desired.
- Experience leading strategic supplier negotiations with Big Four accountancies as well as Management Consulting firms.
- Demonstrated expertise in procurement category management, supplier relationship management, commercial negotiations, and the strategic sourcing process.
- Skilled at presenting and interacting with C-Suite Individuals
