About you.
You will be responsible for leading a team of three who deliver and develop the Councils HR Advisory support to the Council. This includes:
proactive employee relation advice on the full range of ER issues including misconduct, performance management, ill health, job design and evaluation, grievance, flexible working and family friendly support.
workforce change management including terms and conditions, redundancy and redeployment.
supporting the delivery of our inhouse line manager training so they have the skills for effective day to day management.
ongoing review and development of the Councils employee policies and procedures, ensuring they remain compliant with employment law and reflective of the Councils workforce culture and corporate values
proactive development of the Councils approach to reward and retention, health and wellbeing, equality, diversity and inclusion underpinned by data led decisions.
As an established HR professional, you will lead the advisory team to deliver and develop our solution focused corporate advisory support.
You will also be responsible for supporting a strategic area with proactive HR support, this includes providing effective HR workforce data, understanding their business challenges and therefore supporting effective people solutions including managing your own complex employee relation caseload.
You’ll have the skills to effectively develop working relationships across the breadth of our workforce at pace, navigating solutions in a driven, yet compassionate way.
The Council is on a transformation journey, set out in our Future New Forest plan. You will be part of delivering the workforce aims in Future New Forest, which includes report writing and presentation at relevant meetings including the Councils HR Committee and playing an active role in our corporate groups, for example employee networks, EDI and employee forum.
