The Trust is seeking a consultant psychiatrist to join Knowsley Resource and Recovery Centre.

The Recovery team is a multi-disciplinary team which provides evidence based, timely, safe, readily accessible, specialist, comprehensive assessments and specialist psychosocial and pharmacological interventions for service users in Knowsley over the age of 18 years who experience significant and enduring mental health difficulties, who require ongoing support, care and treatment.

The team has moved away from traditional models of working where clinics are booked for the consultant weeks in advance and there is a distinction between Non-CPA and CPA patients. With transformation we have successfully moved to a more MDT working where the consultant role is one to support the team with increased role for other skill mix including Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Structured Clinical Management Practitioners, psychologists, Clinical pharmacists and Occupational therapists. The team concentrates on Clinical pathway working where needs are identified in MDT meetings to decide which pathway will be best suited for the patient and which team member is most suitable to give the intervention.

The Team facilitates the process of assessment and intervention following Care Clustering – facilitating a needs-led care framework.

There is no inpatient commitment. The team provides a service to clients from 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.

General duties

External duties, roles and responsibilities

The Trust actively supports the involvement of the consultant body in regional and national groups subject to discussion and approval with the chief medical officer and, as necessary, the chief executive officer.



Other duties

From time to time, it may be necessary for the post holder to carry out such other duties as may be assigned, with agreement, by the Trust. It is expected that the post holder will not unreasonably withhold agreement to any reasonable proposed changes that the Trust might make.



Work programme

It is envisaged that the post holder will work 10 programmed activities over 5 days. Following appointment there will be a meeting at no later than three months with the clinical manager to review and revise the job plan and objectives of the post holder. The overall split of the programmed activities is 7.5 to be devoted to direct clinical care and 2.5 to supporting professional activities (as per the Royal College of Psychiatrists recommendation). The timetable is indicative only. The post holder will be included in the daily on-call rota for North Liverpool. There is usually always a higher trainee ST4-6 first on call at night. On-call availability supplement is 1% - Band B low frequency, low intensity and has been consistently for many years. The rota is currently shared with approximately 18 FTE colleagues, from adult, addictions and learning disability services.

• 1 whole time equivalent (WTE) consultant psychiatrist (this post)

• Provide administrative support, produce documents, and respond to first-line resourcing queries through an effective help desk.
• Assist managers with using standard documents and processes.

• Propose and implement process improvements.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Understanding of recruitment processes and candidate onboarding.
• Experience in a recruitment environment.
• GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent.
• Experience with administrative and data entry tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work as part of a team and travel to the central Oxford office once a week.
