Responsibilities

1. To competently identify the nature of an infestation and the most appropriate treatment/ management techniques. This decision should be based on knowledge gained through formal training, legislative restrictions, species specific biology, environmental protection considerations and site data.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibilities

1. To contribute to the management of Home Ownership Services reporting to the Garages Services Manager on all matters relating to the management of garages and other non-residential properties (including barrow stores) the identification of disused garage areas, the letting of garages, parking areas and barrow stores and the management of voids and waiting lists.

To represent Homeownership Services at public meetings, working groups Tenants and Home Owners Councils and other resident forums, presenting prepared reports and presentations and answering questions. To promote the availability of the garages available for letting in regards to the refurbished sites and hard to let areas and where there is not a high demand.

4. To maintain the waiting list for both public sector residents and private sector clients to ensure that there is a continuous lettings process. To ensure that regular communication is instigated with those on the waiting list to ensure that the information is accurate and up to date and that the client base is kept informed of progress in accordance with current policies and procedures. Process and assess applications to ensure that Southwark’s direct tenants and leaseholders are complying with the terms and conditions of their tenancy / lease agreement.

5. To ensure that garages, barrow stores and parking areas are fit for purpose in order to maximise income from licences. Including regular communal inspections to identify areas of disrepair, anti-social behaviour or other issues which may prohibit lettings. Including regular site visits and quarterly joint visits with the Repairs and Contracts Officer.

As Planning Administrative Officer, you will be working within the project to transfer planning

TOC SW role:
To provide a comprehensive, effective, integrated, systemically-informed social work service, within Southwark’s practice framework, managing complex cases. To deliver excellent social work practice, assessing complex need, planning and working purposefully with families, support networks and other professionals to manage risk, safeguard children and promote positive outcomes. To provide a social work service which is both relationship based and which responds in a timely manner within statutory guidelines. To work collaboratively with the team, supporting the development of best practice and confident practitioners through coaching and mentoring of students, newly qualified social workers and less experienced practitioners. This role is predominantly place-based in the hospital discharge team and visiting patients on the ward for complex discharge assessments and dedicated discharge planning, including mental capacity assessments and discharge planning meetings with medical colleagues, therapists and/or social care professionals and families.
**NOTE: As mental capacity assessments and complex discharge assessments are carried out in person and with discharge planning through winter pressures demanding a flexible approach to visiting patients on the ward, this role cannot be fulfilled remotely! Overview of the Team and role: The Case Management team undertake longer-term (6 weeks or more), complex social work interventions, working with older adults and physically disabled people; including those with concurrent mental health and substance misuse needs. The team’s work includes complex mental capacity work, including Court of Protection applications where indicated; and undertaking Safeguarding enquiries as well as assessments and unscheduled reviews under the Care Act 2014, and multi-disciplinary input to Continuing Health Care processes.
