Job role

Checks with the Yard Supervisor at the start of day to understand the priorities and receive direction.
Daily drain inspection and sampling.
General cleaning of Yards, Cement Briquette Plant, Rod Mill, Charging Conveyors & Furnace Buildings.
Assist with down day cleaning across plant – High pressure water jetting, sack and slab filter replacement.
The operation of mobile plant - fork lift truck, bob cat loading shovel, front loading shovel, scissors lift and cherry picker, as required.
Assist with recycling product via the rod mill, and the subsequent recycling / disposal of pallets.
Collection, transport and blowing of fly ash pots in accordance with the factory instructions.
Receipt of raw materials and operation of the weigh bridge if required.
Must also be flexible and willing to work in other areas of the factory as required i.e. Production lines & Fabrication.
Makes adjustment and minor repairs to equipment in the job holder’s control to ensure they are fully optimised.
Daily check of fluid levels and general condition of mobile plant under the job holders’ control. Reports defects or wear to the supervisor or shift maintenance.
Operates at a level of performance to maintain any agreed performance targets.
Maintains good housekeeping standards. By acting as the 6S Champion in accordance with the 6S system of work.
Complies with a safe method of working and reports any potential unsafe practices or hazards. Also adhere to relevant procedures to minimise the risk of fire.
The hours of work are rotational weekly shifts:

Week 1 - 6am to 2pm.

Week 2 - 10am to 6pm/Monday to Wednesday/Thursday and Friday 8am to 4pm.

Week 3 - 6am to 2pm/Monday to Wednesday - off Thursday and Friday - back in Saturday and Sunday 6am to 2pm.

Week 4 - 10am to 6pm/Monday to Friday.

The hourly rate is £14.58.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Power Press Operator and Tool Setter is responsible for operating and setting up mechanical and hydraulic power presses to manufacture components to precise specifications. This role ensures the efficient and safe operation for the press machinery, maintaining high standards of quality and productivity. The operator is also responsible for setting up the tools and dies required for different jobs, making adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal performance. The role is critical in supporting production schedules and ensuring that safety protocols are strictly followed to prevent accidents and equipment damage.

Key Responsibilities

* Operate power presses, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

* Set up tools and dies for production runs, adjusting press settings as necessary.

Role summary and primary responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Operations Buyer, the role of the Costing Administrator is to compile costings and ROM estimates for both new and established finished products, as per sales requests and in line with the internal costing process. A key role in the company, the Costing Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of product costings, that take into account valid supplier quotations, lead times, minimum order quantities, any existing stock and its shelf life. The completed costing will then be submitted for internal approval.

Job Role

The role requires managing all commercial and financial aspects of assigned projects and contracts to ensure completion is on time, within budget and to legal and quality assurance requirements and regulations.

The role will include:

A good understanding of all aspects of civil groundworks infrastructure.
Strong communication skills with statutory bodies on environmental, drainage and highways.
Comply with responsibilities as laid down in the Group’s Health, Safety and Environment Policy.
Contribute to the management of a range of legal and contractual issues to ensure the project remains profitable while complying with Group guidelines.
Appoint and retain subcontractors, including sourcing and negotiation of contracts, to ensure resources are available to achieve targets.

Specific Requirements:

HND or HNC degree in construction related subject.
Relevant experience gained with a proven track record in a volume-driven housing development environment.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Fully conversant with Microsoft Package, including Excel and Word.

CSCS card required and current driving licence required for site visits.
The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with an hour for lunch break.
