The Deputy Director – Tech Policy, Implementation and Data Analytics sits in Digital Policy and Programmes directorate.

This division is at the heart of developing and implementing policy, enabling teams to drive forward DPU’s key priorities. It responds to
emerging priorities in health technology - picking up often urgent cross-cutting projects,msupporting the implementation of wider programmes, building policy capability across the NHSE’s Transformation Directorate, and carrying out key departmental functions on behalf of DHSC.

Key Responsibilities

As Deputy Director – Tech Policy, Implementation and Data Analytics your key responsibilities will include:

• leading policy of several of the key delivery programmes in the Transformation Directorate, including electronic patient records, leading the division to provide expert policy input and engaging with Ministers;
• engaging with policy teams across the Department and NHSE to ensure that digital health is considered as a key enabler to their strategies and policy delivery, e.g. feeding into the 10-year plan for health and the SR;

This is an interesting and exciting role in the Financial Investigation Unit that is part of the Investigation and Enforcement Services directorate.

The candidate will be working on a new Financial Investigation Team created as a result of the Companies House Reform Act. This will contribute to the wider objectives of the Companies House reform legislation and to the protection of the UK, its citizens and its economy from economic crime.

The primary responsibility will be the planning and preparation of financial investigations for the purpose of confiscations under POCA in England and Wales, presenting case material including financial statements and attending court if necessary.

The Department’s Capital and Investment Directorate is responsible for the management of the NHS capital budget and delivery on a range of major capital programmes across the Department and NHS. The work of our directorate is to ensure the healthcare system makes better use of capital investment as part of enabling services changes and driving efficiencies, as well as being a key factor in maintaining services and meeting new service demands. The Capital Finance Team is responsible for leading on the monitoring and reporting of capital spend and agreement of DHSC Group capital budgets for future years. The Finance Briefing Manager will be a primarily policy position and have responsibility over preparing and coordinating briefing documents/ answering information requests from Parliament, the Minister, Special Advisers, the public and other stakeholders about capital funding and what this funding delivers in an accessible and easy to understand way.

The role also includes interpreting data and incorporating financial analysis in briefing documents and supporting the team’s work on upcoming announcements.
