About the role

We are seeking a Facilities Coordinator to join our team at Pydar House in Truro.

The role will support the provision of a range of property related services including routine liaison with building occupants, overseeing the general upkeep of the building condition, cyclical safety and security checks, raising notification/ logs of defects and reporting of issues on behalf of service users.

You will be working closely with the Facilities Manager, assigned Site Supervisors and cleaning staff, and you will be interacting with a cross section of clients, customers and service users.

About you

The ideal candidate will ideally have an NVQ2 in a related service capacity or proven experience of working in a related service area, as well as -
• previous work experience in cleaning/ facilities related work in an office, school/ college or industrial environment
• a sound understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace including carrying out risk assessments
• the ability to undertake minor maintenance activities
• good IT skills
• strong attention to detail

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the delivery and management of cost effective and proactive operational facilities management at New County Hall, Truro, which will include cleaning services, Health & Safety and the welfare of the workforce.

The post holder will also have responsibility for managing and monitoring contract delivery, ensuring compliance with all working standards and directives whilst driving continuous improvement, performance management and efficiency at all levels across the site. As well as promotion of the service and development of new contracts.

Duties will include:

Leading operational delivery of facilities services ensuring that Client needs are met and that targets defined are achieved
the maintenance of statutory and regulatory compliance records, ensuring that all inspections and maintenance are completed to time and are properly recorded with appropriate certification
day-to-day operational management of all support services including the coordination and management cleaning services, client appointed catering, vending and maintenance contracts, ensuring that the agreed service standards are delivered
to assist with the day-to-day management of the Security team/contract.
Will be required to complete fire warden and first aid training
agreeing and reporting on corrective action plans where KPI’s or SLA’s have been missed
ensuring that all Facilities related activity is conducted in accordance with Client Health, Safety and Environmental requirements including checking Risk Assessments and Method Statements of contractors to ensure compliance
to oversee the recruitment, induction and training of all staff
monitoring and managing staffing levels, to keep these within set financial targets including provisions for overtime and sickness cover, and to ensure robust sickness monitoring and attendance management procedures are in place and are acted upon
to work closely with the client to resolve any contractual or operational delivery concerns seeking at all times to resolve matters promptly to the satisfaction of the client whilst retaining a viable business position for the division.
Being a member of the Soft Services Senior Management Team and to assist in the development, marketing and promotion of the service in retaining existing and seeking new clients
About you

The ideal candidate will have BICS technical/ managerial qualification/ NVQ4 or equivalent knowledge and experience, with membership of a relevant professional organisation (e.g. British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM), Facilities Management Association (FMA) and preferably a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.

You should also demonstrate:

experience of managing and leading teams of staff working across multiple locations, including knowledge of formal processes
experience of working in a Facilities Management/Cleaning Services administrative management capacity
an understanding of financial management and control in a related support service or industry capacity
a proven track record of success in delivering service operational efficiencies to achieve organisational aims and objectives
significant experience of developing and building effective working relationships with the client and enhancing the reputation of the business
good interpersonal, written and oral skills
The normal duties of the role will require some flexibility to cover client contract hours and emergencies.

The normal duties of the role may involve travel on a regular or occasional basis.

Are you a skilled Motor Technician looking for further development and/ or training? If so, Corserv have a fantastic opportunity to join our team of our highly valued Technicians at our modern Fleet Engineering Workshop in Newquay.

As a Tech with Corserv, working as part of a dedicated team, you will be undertaking the maintenance and repair services for one of the leading bus operators in the country (servicing a large fleet of around 160 buses that operate throughout Cornwall). .

About the role

As a Technician, you will:

be responsible for maintaining fleet vehicles to DVSA and customer standards
undertake a variety of tasks from routine servicing and filter changes, diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults, through to light body repair, fabrication and welding
diligently carry out routine safety inspections of vehicles to DVSA and customer standards and document work electronically (operating workshop software)
work with manufacturer diagnostic equipment and repair procedures
attend roadside breakdowns to help keep buses running in service; also attending outstations to repair minor defects found by drivers
ensure that all works undertaken are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety Policy and Fleet Engineering Workshops Safe Working and Quality Assurance procedures, whilst also in a timely manner on a ‘first time fix’ basis
be responsible for and ensure that equipment used within the workshop is maintained in a safe condition and uphold good workshop housekeeping
work together and communicate well with our friendly team, apprentices, other departments and customer staff to ensure smooth flow of operation
If your experience is from a car background and upskilling is required for you to confidently work on buses - we currently have staff who have joined us through this route - full training and support is available to enhance and develop your skills to work on public service vehicles.

About you

We are looking for skilled, reliable and motivated individuals, with a technical background, and would welcome applications from those working outside of the bus industry, as we can facilitate in-house upskilling & training.

To be successful, you will ideally demonstrate:

a City & Guilds (level 3 or higher) or NVQ 3 equivalent in a relevant discipline
previous experience as a skilled mechanic, working in a vehicle/ bus or plant repair workshop (or in an equivalent trade environment)
an understanding of and experience with relevant industry documentation
knowledge of COSHH & Health and Safety at Work Act
be a qualified/ certified MOT Tester and ‘O’ Licence inspector, or demonstrate a willingness to achieve this
have a full UK Driving Licence (and a full basic tool kit, although tool allowance is paid)

About you

up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the use of the internet/ intranet as a key communication channel, including specific knowledge of content management systems and editorial policies
experience of the use of web and social media to support multichannel communication strategies – both internal and external
appropriate experience of photography, shooting video and video editing to support production of materials
knowledge and experience of graphic design, infographics and template design to support production of relevant company documents, such as annual reports and business plans
