The post holder will work initially within the radiology department at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. It is anticipated that the service will extend to include travel by the post holder to other sites including the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch on a rotational basis to meet the requirements of the service. The post holder will also be expected to support a 24/7 service when this is developed. The post holder will ensure the provision of effective, efficient and appropriate high quality patient care within the Interventional Radiology Department, act as patient advocate throughout the Interventional Radiology process and promote evidence based practice and act as an accountable role model and clinical expert. The post holder will work closely with multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining excellent clinical standards of nursing practice and staff development. Carry out investigations for patients following referral by consultants always acting within own professional scope of practice. Support a patient caseload, ensuring continuity of a high standard of evidence-based nursing care, from point of referral through to conservative treatment and/or discharge and where appropriate independently prescribe necessary medications.
