To provide a specialist clinicalpsychology service to clients served by theNorth Central London Home Treatment Team, and Beacon Day Service. This will includeproviding psychological assessment and short term individual and group therapy to clients, including risk assessment and management. The multidisciplinary teams provide rapid, flexible and accessible services to address urgent and acute problems facing children and young people, by providing a 'hospital from home' approach and a therapeutic day service.

A capacity to work with emotionally intense, demanding and challenging situations is needed. Home or hospital visits are part of the work for the Home Treatment Team, whereas the Day Service is static.

· Be an active member of the clinical team, providing a comprehensive specialist Speech & Language Therapy service to residents of Barnet.

· To be independent with managing both communication and dysphagia caseloads.

· Work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promote best practice and to undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner including assessing and treating own caseload of patients/patients and maintaining professional documentation.

· Build up and maintain key relationships with referring services/ Inpatient Rehabilitation Units/ Learning Disabilities / HEFT Service / Parkinson’s / voluntary and third sector organisations and acute stroke services and members of the multidisciplinary team.





Be responsible for gaining valid, informed consent for assessment, treatment interventions and sharing of information in compliance with legal and professional guidelines. To be able to interpret and follow these guidelines in circumstances where patients do not have capacity to provide informed consent.

Have specialist working knowledge of clinical guidelines, specific to the area you are working in and, with the guidance of your supervisor, to translate these guidelines into clinical practice.

· To assess the need for, develop and implement Speech and Language Therapy treatment to adults referred to the service with a wide range of speech, language, communication and swallowing difficulties

Perform uni-professional and multi-professional specialist assessments and re-assessments of treatment programmes using evidence-based practice and in accordance with RCSLT guidelines.

We have a vacancy for a Speciality Doctor in the Barnet Community Paediatrics teams based at Edgware Community Hospital. The post is 10pas and will include a mixture of clinical work. We are anticipating a significant investment into our Neuro-developmental Diagnostic Pathway and the post holder will have a key role in shaping that together with the AHP pathway lead. We anticipate that the post holder will be involved in joint clinics with our CAMHS colleagues around complex presentations. Clinics will be: child development clinics, EHCP and Autism Diagnostic Clinics (ADOS) Barnet Child Development team is an enthusiastic and innovative team looking at ways to redefine the way they work in a changing NHS climate, facing the challenges of providing the very best of clinical care in a community setting. The additional funding will provide us with an opportunity to reshape the way we work and together with our partners address some of the gaps in provision that currently exist. Duties of a Health and Safety Coordinator

• Following processes and procedures for all staff
• Actively going on the shop floor
• Implementing systems
• Make sure that all the staff are following protocol, training and running tool box talks
• Reviewing the safety of the site and ensuring any issues are actioned and resolved
• Maintaining a safe work place
• Ensure that the site meets all legal expectations.
• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
• Investigate accidents / recommend solutions to the issues

Experience required for a Health and Safety Coordinator

• Hands on approach / Proven Experience of a Health and Safety role
• Manufacturing and production background preferred
• An involvement in audits
• Staff training and development
• A can do approach to work - look for a solution to the problem and see it through
• Good interpersonal skills / communication skills at all levels
• Dealing with the facilities on site - to ensure they are serviced and scheduled
• Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies
