Assist in developing, refreshing and delivering a Digital Health Strategy focused on maximising the advantages to the Trust of national and local objectives. The strategy will concentrate on the major new systems areas but will also guide the transition from current central and departmental systems to a new, unified platform and strengthen and develop the robustness of the underlying infrastructure. Plan, lead and deliver the implementation of replacement of technology and digital systems, clinical, administrative, operational software and related systems. This role will be responsible up to Board Level to ensuring that all systems and ways of working using digital technology are effective, as any impact may severely impact on patient care and how staff manage patients. Manage subcontractors and other relevant suppliers ensuring services and supplies are made in accordance with the contracts in place and negotiating and developing new contracts. This will include the Trusts Digital Strategy and the part that NNUH has in working with the other Acute providers in Norfolk and Waveney and all partners in the Integrate Care System. Work with departments to ensure their business and digital health requirements are understood and are incorporated into future systems implementations. Keep up-to-date with new technology developments to identify opportunities for the Trust and ensure subcontractors offer these advances. Communicate with wide strata of stakeholders about Digital Health and events that have a digital element. This can include sensitive workforce implications, healthcare provision, Major Incident Management or political sensitivities. Successful candidate will be able to distil what is often complex technical language and concepts into plain English to ensure the message is communicated effectively. Develop and maintain relevant policies and procedures and monitor compliance and communicate these to Trust staff. OPED:Our continued work on Frailty identification and intervention has seen a significant redesign of our services; this led in 2017 to the creation of a dedicated Older Peoples ED (OPED).



This service is situated within the emergency department’s footprint. The focus of the service is to identify Frailty and expedite tailored expert intervention between the hours of 8am and 6pm, seven days a week. OPED consists of a four trollied bay and 2 side rooms where patients are assessed by the team. The daily team consists of specialty doctors, ACPs and a consultant geriatrician working in conjunction with the Early intervention team which consists of a physio/occupational therapist. The team also reviews those patients in other parts of the emergency department including resus. Patients if requiring admission are triaged appropriate depending on working diagnosis

Acutely unwell older patients are selected for OPM while in the Acute Medical Unit (AMU), using a locally developed system of triage which is a hybrid of age-related and needs-related systems. The age cut-offs vary according to the presentation of the patient. Approximately43%of acute medical emergencies are triaged to OPM by the current criteria.



All OPM acute inpatients are accommodated on a single site in the 1000 bedded Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. There are 5 OPM wards of approximately 36 beds, with nearly 3 consultants for each ward

As part of the prescribing team the post holder is responsible in supporting our GPs, Nursing. Pharmacists, other clinical staff and reception teams, coordinating discharge summaries and medication reviews, playing a central role in repeat prescribing processes, liaising with our patients, carers, hospital and community pharmacies, responding to medication queries and updating medical records. To support the day to day leadership of a clinical team providing a high quality service within the resources available in a defined area, and specifically to deliver on the following key areas. To offer specialist mental health assessments to Young People who present in crisis during the hours of the service. This role includes both Community CAMHS Duty and A&E Liaison work on a rotating shift basis covering a 7 day rota. Assessment includes care and safety planning, risk assessment and management and facilitating safe discharge. In line with COVID safe practice and service developments these assessments may be offered using remote platforms for appropriate referrals as well as some face to face work. Where clinically indicated to provide a single intervention model to CYP not currently open to CAMHS. This role involves liaising with other agencies and professionals and developing ongoing positive working relationships with them to support young people who present in crisis. The role aims to reduce the number of presentations and admissions to acute hospitals and to reduce length of stay and facilitate discharge once physical health needs have been addressed. You will act as a liaison to acute care colleagues for YP with MH needs that are admitted to A&E or acute paediatric wards and it will be your responsibility to provide specialist mental health assessments and interventions to these young people and to provide advice and consultation on appropriate mental health care planning to support a holistic care and discharge plan (including risk and safety).

Working as a RMN (Registered Mental Health Nurse):
