The Women’s and Children’s Pharmacy Team at MFT has a great opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic and organised specialist pharmacist to join our neurosciences, surgical and critical care clinical pharmacy team. This role will be a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, and will provide clinical pharmacy support to patients, families and staff. As one of only four centres in England providing specialised epilepsy surgery for children, we also excel in the surgical management of neurovascular diseases and brain tumours.

You will work on a rotational basis across a range of clinical specialties including: Acute Medicine, General Medicine & Complex Health, Medical Specialties, General and Specialist Surgery, Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery, Tertiary Respiratory services (including CF), Pulmonary oncology and palliative care, Tertiary Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery including Heart & Lung Transplantation, Paediatrics/neonatology and Women’s health, Critical care (acute ICU, cardiothoracic critical care including ECMO), neuro-rehab / stroke. Your role will also support Antimicrobial Stewardship and Medicines Safety agenda.

The post holder will be responsible for providing a high-quality pharmacy service to allocated clinical areas, ensuring timely and accurate medicines reconciliation on admission, ongoing inpatient monitoring and review in accordance with agreed acuity and complexity requirements, and optimising medications to deliver a safe and appropriate discharge service to patients. They will support the directorate lead pharmacist and be expected to actively participate in organisational medicines safety and risk management initiatives, including audit and incident reporting.

The post holder will also be involved in supporting the wider multidisciplinary team in the safe and effective use of medicines, and the promotion of the pharmacy service across the site.

Our Children's Services division specialises in supplying trained and experienced teachers during or after school, including in a student's own home, on school premises or an alternative agreed venue.

The post holder will assess, plan implement and evaluate the care for patients supporting and guiding junior staff in the process. This is an exciting role for any Occupational Therapist who have a passion for children's assessments. They will work city wide completing functional assessments for children under 18 who have physical or hidden disabilities, identifying solutions to improve their quality of life, increase their independence and reduce risks relating to moving and handling, lack of equipment provision and need for major adaptations. The post holder will carry a case load and work closely with children's services both internally and externally to ensure the needs of the child and their family are met. They will work with housing providers and other stake holders around rehousing to more suitable properties The will produce comprehensive written reports on Liquid Logic and present cases to MEAP Majors panel for adaptations to meet long term needs. They will liaise and work with reps who provide children's equipment and support the seating clinic with the other children's OTs in the service. They will provide support and advice to colleagues within MEAP who are less experienced working with children and support with training where needed

Our Pharmacy Dispenser rate of pay starts from £12.44 an hour; this increases to £13.57 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

It’s our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.

You will be responsible for

An opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join the adult acute inpatient teams, based at Laureate house Wythenshawe hospital in south Manchester. This is a permanent contract and will be working as a therapists in a well established team.

The job holder will be responsible for managing a daily caseload of clients with acute / complex mental health and rehabilitation needs. You will complete a range of assessments and treatment plans to contribute to the discharge planning process based on your professional knowledge. This will be under the guidance of a Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist You will also contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of the service within the in-patient unit. For newly qualified staff there is a preceptorship pathway and for staff looking to increase their knowledge of mental health there is access to an extensive training and education offer.

You will be part of the Occupational Therapy Team which comprises of lead Occupational Therapist, Senior Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapist assistant and support time and recovery workers.
• To utilise Occupational Therapy specific knowledge to provide the professional contribution within a designated ward
• Creatively identify and support the development and delivery of both therapeutic individual and group interventions to facilitate recovery. The aim of interventions is to achieve service users’ goals in all areas of occupation to optimise levels of independence and working towards community living
• To have a flexible approach to working hours to ensure that the needs of their clients are met.
• To work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate an attitude which respects and values service users’ and their carers
