We have exciting opportunity within Clinical Haematology Departmentfor an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 5Team Leaderto support the day-to-day operational management of the Administration team.


The post-holder will be proactive in the management and co-ordination of service issues within the Department as required. Applications are invited for a locum replacement Consultant Cellular Pathologist / Histopathologist post in the Department of Cellular Pathology at Barts Health NHS Trust. The appointment is to provide Histopathology reporting within Gynaecological Pathology for Barts Health and the other hospitals for which we undertake service provision. We are looking for a team of medical laboratory assistants to support the provision of our 24/7 service 7 days a week. The role will deliver a hybrid function of specimen reception and laboratory duties for Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Infection divisions. Key activities of the post holder will be to: Act as a specialist practitioner and role model and manage the day to day pharmaceutical care of cystic fibrosis patients. Participate regularly in multidisciplinary ward rounds and outpatient review meetings delivering and promoting high quality, cost effective, patient focussed care. Participate in clinical audit and research, risk management and clinical guideline development. Liaise with homecare delivery companies, pharmacy medicines finance team, shared care hospitals and patients and their carers to ensure timely, safe and cost effective clinically appropriate medication supply. Provide education and training to pharmacists and other healthcare professionals within and outside the Trust relating to medicines use in CF. Participate in regular finance reporting, drug usage and expenditure forecasting. Further information can be found in the job description.
