The Elective and Emergency Care Improvement (EECI) group consists of five teams focussed on clinical and operational improvement. The teams are:

Programme management and analytics team

The teams are formed of senior staff with clinical and operational backgrounds. They have a focus on improving the care and experience of patients and staff, translating policy into improvement activity, working alongside frontline teams and their management structures.

Clinical leadership is integral to the group, with clinical leaders embedded within the teams. The medical director works alongside the director of the EECI group, providing leadership and strategic direction of the group as part of the group senior leadership team. The medical director has a close working relationship with, and is professionally accountable to, the national clinical director for UEC. The role involves interfaces with a range of NHSE teams as well as external bodies.

We are keen to recruit an individual with experience of senior leadership roles, with a relevant clinical background to provide clinical leadership across the group, supporting the lead clinicians within individual teams, clinical directors and clinical associates to best deliver their roles and responsibilities.

This role will be key in supporting theDirector of Elective and Emergency Care Improvement toprovide clinical oversight and building medical leadership capacity and capability.

The post-holder work with the other UEC and Elective Care teams across NHS England to apply evidence based clinical practice, service design, commissioning and provider support to secure improvements in services for patients and gains in health outcomes.

They will also provideclinical leadership on key programmes designed to improvethe clinical effectiveness of NHS care.

The postholder will deputise for theDirector of Elective and Emergency Care Improvementwhere appropriate, including covering periods of absence.

Key objectives of the post: 1. To work within consultant-led Restorative Dentistry and Acute Dental Care services for patients requiring treatment at the Leeds Dental Institute and to enable local and national waiting time targets to be met. 2. To support the head and neck restorative oncology service and will include, but is not limited to: a. Conservative and endodontic management of compromised teeth in patients with a history of head and neck radiotherapy or those at risk of medication related osteonecrosis of the jaw, for example patients having IV infusions of bisphosphonates following breast cancer. b. The post holder will work closely with LSMP & TLS PCN Pharmacy Team under the supervision of the Senior Clinical Pharmacist and PCN Clinical Director to support the PCN with regards to prescription and medication queries. The clinical pharmacist will contribute to the implementation and delivery of the Primary Care Network Contract Directed Enhanced Service (DES). They will provide clinical support to the pharmacy technician and clinicians and support with queries around medication, acute prescription requests and medicines reconciliation. The role of a Deputy Nurse Manager within the Nursing Home involves:

• Being responsible for the management of the nursing services in liaison with the Home Manager
• Promoting and maintaining high standard of nursing care
• Ensuring effective induction of new nursing staff and providing ongoing clinical supervision of trained staff
• Woking within the NMC and CQC standards, alongside internal policies and procedures
• Planning, directing and delivering high quality person-centre care through care planning process
• Overseeing all aspects of medicine management ensuring medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered
• Undertaking staff reviews through supervision, appraisals and team meetings
• Taking an active role in training the team of nurses to ensure staff are kept up to date with current practices and good practice developments
• Maintaining accurate and relevant documentation and reports to reflect practice and planned development
• Deputising in the absence of the Home Manager
