The General Medical Council is currently looking for a Research and Insight Analyst to work in our Data, Research and Insight Hub. The Research and Insight Analyst, will provide high quality, timely and accurate written insight and analysis outputs to inform policy, process, and operational improvements both within the GMC and for a variety of key stakeholders and organisation across the UK.

Your primary focus will be utilising a range of primary and secondary evidence sources on doctors, medical associate professionals, and the wider healthcare environment, to provide insight into the future of professional healthcare regulation and related policy. This means undertaking research projects, analysing datasets, gathering external information, sharing our insight data, and ultimately delivering a suite of reports and papers on health matters.

An understanding of regulatory and public policy environments will be a distinct advantage. You will have the adaptability to respond to the changing needs of our organisation and fast-moving policy environment. You should have a sound understanding of research management, horizon scanning and other environmental analysis techniques, while experience of working within a policy and research team would be ideal.

Exploring, shaping and undertaking analysis within a small team of research and insight specialists, to support a range of activities including producing publications, presentations and papers for internal and external audiences providing key stakeholders with crucial evidence led intelligence and insight to inform our policy development and decision-making.

This is a hybrid role where you will be expected to work at the Manchester office at least once a week, with Tuesday being the current team day.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To aseptically prepare high quality Cytotoxic/MABS/EAMS etc. in accordance with departmental procedures, Good Manufacturing Practice and COSHH regulations ensuring that all work complies with all regulatory frameworks and standards. An exciting opportunity has arisen within Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced nurse to join our busy Rheumatology Specialty Nursing team as a Band 7 Lupus Nurse Specialist. The post holder will be the lead nurse for Pediatrics Lupus and related disease based in RMCH and assist in the provision of advice and support for nurses and other health professionals in the safe management of children and young people with Lupus. The post holder will lead the development of service for this client group in partnership with consumers and professionals from all relevant agencies. An exciting opportunity has now arisen within the City Wide Manchester Macmillan Palliative Support Service for a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care.

The post holder will work as part of the Macmillan Specialist multi-disciplinary team comprising of Medics, Dietitian, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Nurses, Speech and Language Therapist, Assistant Practitioners, Admin support and Volunteer Coordinators. The team aims to provide effective support palliative care and/or rehabilitation to patients with a life limiting condition requiring palliative intervention.

As a HCPC registered Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist based on our Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at Trafford General Hospital you will be part of a large multi-disciplinary team working on the only level 2a Neuro-Rehab unit in Greater Manchester.

You will work clinically to support the assessment and delivery of rehabilitation to our patients, and also support their discharge and complex case management.

You should have proven skills in neurological occupational therapy including
• Knowledge and experience of assessing and treating cognition, vision and spasticity.
• In depth knowledge of the mental capacity act and complex discharge planning.
• Excellent communication skills
• Skills in acute neurological management and rehabilitation and multidisciplinary working.
• Experience of complex discharge planning within the NHS.

Strong leadership skills are essential to compliment your advanced occupational therapy knowledge and skills.

You will be required to co-ordinate and monitor the activity and caseload demands on the unit, provide evidence-based training within the MDT and support junior therapists in the team to ensure high quality care.

You will provide support to the OT team through supervision, appraisal and teaching. And you'll support the Therapy Clinical Lead with service provision and development opportunities.

You will be supported in your role by the Therapy Clinical Lead and receive regular supervision.

The neurorehabilitation therapy team is ward based and made up of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Neuropsychologists and Rehabilitation Assistants who work closely with nursing and medical colleagues to deliver excellent neurological rehabilitation.
