The successful candidate will have the opportunity to experience and work with

NICU

NTS - Neonatal Transfer service

This fellow job has come up as part of the NICU expansion in which we have opened 45 cots to provide all levels of neonatal care at the Royal London Hospital. We are a tertiary centre and take referrals from all over the North East London region.

The posts will be for a period of 12 months with further extension depending upon the clinical performance

Training will be provided as appropriate for the individual in accordance with the syllabus for trainees in neonatal medicine following discussion with their educational supervisor. In general training opportunities occur in the context of:

Consultant led ward rounds twice daily
Registrar led ward rounds in second half of post dependent on experience
Practical supervision
Concise topic teaching two mornings per week
Dedicated X-ray meeting
A weekly academic ward round and case presentation/seminar
Training in cranial ultrasound and echocardiography

Specialist clinics: Neurodevelopmental/Respiratory/Cardiology
3 hours protected teaching per week

Weekly general paediatric teaching sessions covering a wide range of topics
Regular multidisciplinary simulation training

A dedicated service for neonatal transport in London is based at The Royal London Hospital. The team functions autonomously but there are opportunities for individuals to rotate into the transport service for periods of time to receive training and experience in this field of neonatal care.

We are very much on the frontline in London’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and are rapidly expanding our critical care capacity in response to demand in the capital. Our additional capacity will allow us support the backlog of complex surgical patients awaiting elective surgery alongside our trauma and emergency patients whilst continuing to care for patients suffering from Covid-19 and our staff will rotate in their teams across all of our critical care areas.

The Division aims to provide an environment conducive to the on-going development of all staff and advancements in the quality of the service by ensuring provision of a high standard of training, teaching and clinical care. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be an advanced and experienced practitioner within the field of chronic pain and they will be expected to provide clinical support, working independently or assisting with multi-professional interventions in which full training has been undertaken based on clinical practice standards. The role of Clinical Nurse Specialist requires a high degree of personal and professional autonomy in making clinical judgements. Taking sole and joint responsibility as appropriate for patients during their time in the care of the CALM service to ensure a successful patient-based outcome, which will require assessment, planning and implementation of treatment. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be required to give advice and guidance to other health professionals regarding chronic pain interventions and clinical practice. They will be responsible for the nursing leadership within the CALM service, giving support and guidance within the multidisciplinary team and contributing to the high-quality care given to patients in accordance with clinical governance. The postholder will ensure the delivery and expansion of an expert and advanced nursing service through effective interdisciplinary care, utilising clinical and managerial expertise. Are you a Pharmacy Technician (Band 5) seeking a locum position? Medacs Healthcare has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join an NHS hospital in South West London, to support them in providing the highest levels of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• To ensure the accurate and timely production of all sterile and non-sterile products, making sure workload is prioritised appropriately and the various duties of the Technical Services staff are co-ordinated effectively.
• To enhance the efficiency of the Technical Services unit by obtaining and maintaining accreditations for all in-process checks and the final checking of over labelled batches of medicines.

Essential Qualifications:

We are looking for an experienced and highly Pharmacy Technician (Band 5) with:

• GPhC registration.
• Previous wards-based experience.
• 6 months recent NHS experience within the last 3 years.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust Major Trauma Centre is one of four in London, dedicated to improving outcomes for trauma patients in London. We are looking to recruit an innovative and highly specialised Band 7 Occupational Therapist, with previous experience working in the areas of trauma, orthopaedic, vascular surgery, plastic and general surgery. You would work within a team, comprising of qualified and assistant therapy staff, providing intervention to patients experiencing a wide range of conditions, whose needs are often challenging and complex.

The post holder will work with major trauma, orthopaedic and amputee patients who have sustained complex injuries and support them on their rehabilitation journeys. You will provide holistic occupational therapy assessment and treatment to patients with complex injuries due to major trauma. You will work closely with the MDT to optimise patient’s recovery to facilitate discharge home, or refer on to other community rehabilitation services.

The successful applicant will have the opportunities to develop their leadership, management and QI skills, whilst being responsible for overseeing the day-to-day workload, supervision and appraisal of junior staff. We are looking for a motivated occupational therapist, with excellent communication and people management skills to join and complement our established teams and continue to develop the in-patient service
• To provide a high quality Occupational Therapy service within the specialties of Trauma and Orthopaedics (T&O), vascular surgery and General Surgery.
• Patients seen have a wide range of trauma, vascular and surgical conditions and their needs are frequently complex.
• The service aim is for clinical risk management pre and post-operatively, post-injury or post-diagnosis, to maximise functional ability and ensure safe discharge of patients.
• This team covers Orthopaedics, Vascular Surgery, Plastics, GI Surgery, Major Trauma Unit step down patients and the Surgical Rehabilitation Unit.
• Conditions seen include various types of trauma, vascular, amputees, cancer and palliative surgical patients and other surgeries.
• The post holder will have their own caseload and actively participate in the ongoing development, evaluation and audit of this service.
• To provide team leadership, direction and support for junior staff and students.
• To assist in the management, development of occupational therapy services, including service reviews and audit. To hold responsibility for defined projects.
• To comply with the College of Occupational Therapists Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
• To provide speciality OT input into education, training and development programmes for staff and students within clinical speciality and profession
