The Lead AMSA performs a variety of administrative functions associated with the scheduling of patient care for the clinical programs at VA Medical Center. Some duties include, but are not limited too:

• Provides educational sessions to train new employees in clerical process in an efficient and effective manner to ensure that clerical processes, functions and goals are understood and met.

The Assistant Section Chief is responsible for managing Provider schedules and leave. This person is responsible for Provider onboarding, education and training. He or She will resolve front line clinical care questions and/or concerns. The Assistant Chief will collaborate with the Service Line Manager to develop performance expectations for Physicians and complete annual proficiencies including Pay for Performance, FPPEs and OPPEs. The same day emergency care is a fast-growing service at Bedford hospital.

We see acutely unwell patients from a number of specialities from both medical and surgical services. We have an exciting clinic area equipped with a team of high experience.

You will be joining a friendly, high performing Trust that is committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing of staff. The urgent and emergency care directorate is in the process of developing a robust standard operating policy which will underpin the Same Day Emergency Care unit operation policy. All patients attending the unit will be assessed utilizing pathways to ensure patient safety, effectiveness and efficiency.

Bedford Hospital opened its' Same Day Emergency Care during the pandemic. We are looking for high motivated, dynamic hard working nurses from across a number of specialities.

You will work alongside a friendly, supportive, and professional integrated team comprising of consultants, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapist, discharge co-ordinators, advanced clinical practitioners, pharmacists, social services and community services.

This service will run 7 days per week, 12 -24 hours per day depending on service need.

Staff nurse duties
• Medical team interaction
• Assist and support in patient admission and discharge
• Personal hygiene and nutritional support
• Drug administration

Assist with admitting, discharging, transferring and escorting patients and clients.

Maintain personal and organizational standards of health, safety and security, e.g. following the uniform policy.

Assisting in running clinics and supporting in admitting patients where required.
